How do y'all going about finding the key of a sample?

all types of ways... ear, plugin sometimes depending on what i'm using I get it from the sampler like with serato sampler.
I still do like to test my ear then compare what a plugin says. the ableton tuner plugin can be very hit or miss. with bass notes I go up octaves for clarity if I can't get the root from the sampler I'm using. then go back down once I figure it out. usually sounds butta.
serato sampler is fun easy and intuitive. it gets me sampling faster than the native samplers in ableton. it keeps the sound quality good even when you alter the sample. I would sometimes have issues with that a lot when pitching and lowering with ableton samplers and dealing with finding the right settings to minimize quality loss.

Yep, also with real-time pitchshifting in FL Slicer to.
But i'm not happy with only 16 slices though
studio one lets you right click a wave and find the chords.
if you then play something over it (midi), and right click that you can find the key of it
outisde of studio one, i just play all the keys until one of them sounds good played over and over on the sample. then i go thru that key's scale to see if its all good
if not find the next one

really? I mix in studio one
yea right click audio track and say detect chords and the chords will be on the top of wav.
then play something in tune with a midi instrument, right click that and say find key or something like that and the key will be in the bottom right of the screen

what kind of tips you looking for? like how to make all your plugins show thumbnails? download the free stuff from the shop? how to use the console shaper?
im not teacher pro level but i can get joints done in it. i only bought it because i miss logic pro x, and this is the closest i could find on windows
