How do Black women see Kamala Harris? There’s a lot that ‘raises eyebrows,’ one expert says.

She never moved me in any way. I want to be happy and excited about her but she's so meh to me in every way possible. Her only redeeming qualities for me personally are her going to Howard and being an AKA. Other than that, I feel no connection to her.

i swear this seems the only reason women follow her

Obama doesn't get elected if he had a white wife, end of story
Well maybe...not sure. But I do know him having a real black wife gave him plus points in our community. Plus both are very likeable and he choose a good black woman who he has a lot in common with.

This, it's like she's half way in half way out. I can't fully trust her. I'll stay on the sidelines and watch her from afar.
And I think that's the ultimate problem with her as VP. Biden is not a strong candidate, I think he has early onset of dementia, constantly gaffs in public, and usually a VP pick is not this polarizing. I honestly don't even think Biden is as smart and witty as he was when he was running for the democratic ticket versus Obama, it is definitely a decline in his mental health that is not being addressed.

I think it will come down to an enthusiasm problem with infighting of blacks saying " we gotta get rid of trump by any means" versus "we're fucc'd either way crowd" coupled with the closet racists that let trump become president, that seems like a recipe for disaster for the democrat ticket come fall.

This thread and others are a microcosm of society right now. I think a lot of people will just stay home.

Oh my goodness. Y'all dudes must be really young or really stupid or both. Biden was a protege of Mississippi Senator James Eastland on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Eastland said that Black people were an inferior race on numerous occasions and he taught Biden everything he knew about locking up Black people and blocking them from getting educated, which Biden carried out for decades in the Senate as the head of the judiciary committee.

Joe Biden, speaking at a fundraiser in New York on Tuesday night, fondly remembered the days he served in the Senate with James O. Eastland, a white supremacist Democrat from Mississippi. The New York Times has this extraordinary description of his remarks:

“I was in a caucus with James O. Eastland,” Mr. Biden said, slipping briefly into a Southern accent, according to a pool report from the fund-raiser. “He never called me ‘boy,’ he always called me ‘son.’ ”

It’s not the first time Biden’s ties to Eastland, a man who called the ruling in Brown v. Board of Education a “monstrous crime,” have drawn scrutiny. As CNN has reported, as a young senator, Biden tried to enlist Eastland’s help in his fight to prevent busing in school desegregation. He also had this to say at a Doug Jones rally in 2017:

I’ve been around so long, I worked with James Eastland. Even in the days when I got there, the Democratic Party still had seven or eight old-fashioned Democratic segregationists. You’d get up and you’d argue like the devil with them. Then you’d go down and have lunch or dinner together. The political system worked. We were divided on issues, but the political system worked.

Well, as long as we’re talking about the way things used to get done in the Senate, there’s no reason to settle for Joe Biden’s imitation of Eastland’s Southern drawl: The man can speak for himself just fine. Here’s the senator explaining his thoughts and political positions in great detail on The Mike Wallace Interview on July 28, 1957. It’s great television, but it probably won’t make you feel very nostalgic about James Eastland:

Mike Wallace Interview with Senator James Eastland | C-SPAN.org

Positively Trumpian! As anyone who’s read the Confederate declarations of secession knows, it is always instructive to compare the way people are remembered after their deaths with the way they chose to behave and present themselves while they were living. Here’s Biden on Tuesday, lamenting what he thinks has been lost since Eastland’s day:

At least there was some civility. We got things done. We didn’t agree on much of anything. We got things done. We got it finished. But today, you look at the other side and you’re the enemy. Not the opposition, the enemy. We don’t talk to each other anymore.

Eastland may not have been Joe Biden’s enemy, but that’s sort of the problem, because he was definitely an enemy to his black constituents. But it’s not Biden’s fault he sees politics the way he does: As Mike Wallace’s wrap-up shows, by midcentury the media was already carefully packaging everything as a noble but ultimately consequence-free debate between Giants of the Senate.

Sen. James Eastland of Mississippi speaks for a vast part of the white South on the race issue. In the North, senators with equal conviction speak their lines. Somewhere between these two poles, a comp—

I can’t tell if the video cuts off when Wallace suggests a centrist compromise is obviously the answer to questions like “Should black people be allowed to vote?” or if I keep having a minor stroke whenever I watch it. Anyway, that’s James Eastland. Joe Biden misses having dinner with him.

I don't know if they are far worse because it is hard to measure the degrees of shyttiness after you realize you are in a big toilet of shyt. Biden's hatred and contempt is fixated on Black men and only Black men; while Trump pretty much hates everybody that is not White like him.

The parallels between these two guys are pretty stunning though:

Trump has been locking up illegal immigrants in cages over the last 4 years. Biden has been locking Black men in cages over the last 50 years;

Trump praises White Nationalists. Biden praises Segregationists;

Trump is pushing to keep Black people out the suburbs. Biden pushed to keep Black kids out of schools;

Trump makes racist statements that the media talks about continuously. Biden makes racist statements that the media tries to cover up and explain away.

The only difference between Trump and Biden is that Biden is more competent in pushing through his racist agenda. Biden was even smart enough to go out and get a Brown face to help him push through the racist agenda so that it does not look like it is him going after Black men.

Howard gave her the biggest scholarship.

Secondly many white washed blacks choose to go to HBCU to find out what being blacks means. She was definitely one of them, sadly she only care for high achieving black folks.

how she go to a black uni and marry a white guy?

shyt makes no sense at all whatsoever.

real talk,...
this shyt could fail like Mondale Ferrero.
it has the same recipe for disaster.
running against a fake president candidate actor and figure head of a racist group.
just like how Mondale/ferraro lost to celeb president patsy Reagan.

If Biden hadn't picked a black woman, we would be seeing thought pieces on that :stopitslime:

People were always going to find something to complain about, and I'm not trying to hear about Stacey Adams on a national ticket:francis:

If you want to be critical of Kamala, let's just stick to her positions -- not her lineage or that she's marriage to a white man.

Biden won't make it through 1 term, he is already showing severe mental decline. Nobody is voting Kamala for president.

If she's the incumbent with no challengers it will be the same situation as now. Vote for her because she's good enough or risk letting the Republicans get back in control.
