It's not primarily about Jay there's an overarching theme greater than him. Now he does reference himself in situations relevant to the theme.

i meant album when i said record. jay does not have 3 classic albums, he has one arguable, only off the merrit of it being his best album(RD). everything else is hyped up. there aren't that many classic hip hop albums.

He lived while Biggie and Pac died so people will always mock his success
He represents everything rong with hip hop to hipsters and purists, even though they praise Biggie who rapped about the same things
The excepted narrative of him is that he's a snake b*stard who's only where he is and only get's props because he appeals to the lowest common denominator and has money
His "fall off" is grossly exaggerated and people ignore portions of his discography

Your reaching and running out of reasons. You can keep turning red in the face when it comes to Jay. But his whole body of work and career is why he's the GOAT. He doesn't even have to put out any music or be up in the news, but your thoughts and comments keep him relevant.

If probably give it a 3-4 out of 10. It was the first Jay album where there were no great verses. The beats were nothing special. It was a cash grab.
KC had the Prelude which is classic, then a few good songs in the first half. On the whole it was wack - maybe a 5-6. MCHG was just a whole new level of
Soul Food don't even belong in the conversation.
Aquemini is a classic, but it's not held in the same regard as Infamous, Illmatic, Chronic, Paid in Full, etc.
Classics are really more so about consensus amongst the core audience.
I think Atliens and the Diary are the closest to being GOAT contenders. I don't agree that they are, but i can see the argument.
