Based on what?

White folks make up the largest piece of the consumers pie, and he's not even in the top-10 for jersey sales. Even Giannis is in the top-5 and he isn't even American. Unless you're saying that White Americans love all star players.

I think I have a fair reason as to why you find it unwatachable at the moment, but entertain me - what would make it watchable for you?
There's nothing you would change in the NBA to make it more appealing?

Appealing to whom?

It's already as popular as ever.

Or do you mean make the NBA more appealing to old heads on this board?

The problem with that is, I don't think cats really know what they want from the NBA on here. Barring getting rid of all the international players and putting a limit on how many 3s a team can attempt during each game, I think they probably would still find a way to complain about it. Their childhood heroes no longer play anymore, and the NBA is built on star players, so I don't know if they'll ever be content with the product given that.

If you take a look around at the folks who have an avatar of an NBA player, 90+% of them are of players from the past.

I mean, there's absolutely nothing inherently wrong with finding the league unwatchable when your favorite player/team isn't having success, I think that's what a lot more folks should be honest about, rather than coming up with these falsehoods about the game to cover up that fact.
There it is for these coli complainers.

Just admit that you're all mad that Jordan and Kobe and Vince and Shaq and Dirk are out of the league.
Be honest about why you're REALLY hating on the NBA right now. The guys you grew up loving are no longer here.

At least then you'd get a small level of respect from Gil for your whining and misery on the coli.
Same folks who are here mad about these 3s are the same ones who glorified Glen Rice.

But I get it.

It's going to be interesting to see what hype Cooper Flagg can generate this year, and then how that corresponds to the perception of how fans see the NBA going forward. It seems folks don't care for the fact that the NBA has increased in popularity, maybe they might change their minds if a homegrown [white] superstar enters the frame.

He isnt Mike or his offspring. Dudes are in their 30s and 40s and see things differently. Its really that simple. Nothing to do with the game or even Jokic himself.

Which is why I'd wish cats were just honest with themselves.

Then they could drop this whole charade of why they don't like the NBA, and then use that to falsely state it's the reason why it's dying. Otherwise, they're still going to be on this board five years from now lying to themselves about how the league is boring and that nobody is watching it.

If the league is doing so well why are you so pressed about what a bunch of old men on a dying internet forum think? Enjoy your sport.
It's not about me caring about what they think. It's about sifting through all this constant negativity about the game (which is rooted in confirmation bias and bullshyt), when it could just be easily solved if posters were honest with themselves. There's nothing wrong with critiquing the league if it comes from an honest place and/or is based on verifiable evidence. But it's just the same old nonsensical, hypocritcal, baseless rhetoric, over and over.

Then we could all just move on.

We wouldn't need posts/threads made every other day about how bad the NBA is (from folks who supposedly don't watch it anymore).

Same folks have been complaining since 2015.

This is the worst defensive era ever
, in part because the NBA doesnt wan't these nikkaz defending at all

Go to sleep POPS

Only defensive era of the leagues history was about 1995-2010. Which is likely your childhood

Majority of the NBAs history is games of 135-125

All the data is right there, in the season by season summary

Jokic's great of course.

But I think people mostly miss seeing the hunger and drive within the league. Top players wanting to play everygame. Great athletism, tough defense, overall high competetivess of the regular season. A flabby looking dude doesn't really inspire confidence.

Even Jokic himself is very lazy on defense except for grabbing rebounds.
We are tired of Half-assed shot contests with one hand. Most of the time you have defenders just assuming the shooter will make the shot. It's not an all star game.

It's just so damn lazy. You can stay above . 500 and sneak into the playoffs via the play-in. This means you can start watching the NBA in late February and not moss anything important.

When y'all say hunger and drive I feel like y'all mean Kobe, but for some reason nobody just says I don't like it cause Kobe gone.

Whenever I see people complain about today’s defense I wonder if they have watched a game from the 80s or 90s recently. Defense was infinitely easier to play back then. You had guys spotting up from 15 feet, could just go under every screen, and offensive actions were super primitive compared to what teams are doing now.

Even with time to adjust, those all time great defenses would be lost trying to guard everything offenses are doing now.
