Nicki used Barbie as a marketing tool to cater to a younger fan base and Bey been around since she was a late teen.

:patrice:not really sure why you felt the need to tell me that

just saying that teenagers don't care about age - in school none of those chicks cared about how old that dude was

It's not the age that was a problem,it was the marketing they're talking about. Usher was catered to kids and teens my way era) and ginuwine was more caterd to late teens young adults

not sure about that one fammo
they marketed all urban music the same in the 90's...usher's video would come on right after babyface, brian mcknight, and ginuwine's

radio was the same:yeshrug:

Usher had a younger image bro. Hands down. The whole approach was younger than Ginuwine's. Ginuwine's was more grown from the jump. It also helped that Usher looked young as fukk.

I agree that ginuwine is more of a soulful R&B artist. But it's not just that. He's made some wack shyt too

"Pony" classic
"Tell Me Do U Wanna" 2 love it
"When Doves Cry" trash
"I'll Do Anything/I'm Sorry" 2 i love it but it's far from a great record
"Only When Ur Lonely" 2 fukk with it heavy, not a great record though
"Holler" (featuring Nikki and Virginia Slim)1 ok,yet forgettable, fukk with the remix more
"Same Ol' G" 2 love it,but is not top of the line
"What's So Different?" interesting beat, rarely bumps nowadays
"So Anxious" classic
"None of Ur Friends Business" feel what he saying, but never liked the song
"There It Is" dont remember song
"Differences" classic
"Just Because" 1 dont remember song
"Tribute to a Woman" dont remember song
"Hell Yeah" (featuring Baby) didnt like
"In Those Jeans" didnt like
"Love You More" dont remember

While ginuwine's mainstream appeal was going on life support usher was gearing up for his greatest album and greatest success.

What about "Stingy" from the "Barbershop" soundtrack?

I honestly liked damn near all of em better. Lol. But are u talking about from that album? Or in general? Cause if we talking in general. Differences>>>>>>>>>.
But I fukked wit Usher. Just not more than Ginuwine.

By the time Differences came out Usher was dropping 8701, which put him in another stratosphere before setting up Confessions which put him into another universe.

If "tell me do u wanna" had a different video I feel it could've competed. Nice and Slow was a fukkin beast tho. Lol. Not really fair considering Usher took the blueprint Ginuwine laid down on the bachelor and ran wit it. nikka wasn't pop lockin or break dancin or none of that before then.

I don't see Usher biting Ginuwine in any way. Never even heard that comparison before.

It's just that he progressed Into a MJ Bobby Brown mold.

I just don't think Ginuwine was apealling to white ppl enough to be a Usher level star.

Ur wrong. The whole MJ mold thing came straight from Ginuwine who was literally the ONLY RnB artist doin that shyt in the mid 90s. Ginuwine brought that shyt back and made it fashionable for solo singers when no one was doin it. And white people till this day fukk wit PONY more than any Usher song that came out in the 90s.
