He was a better singer and dancer.. And was an influence on all the young RnB cats that came after him wit they solo shyt. Including usher..

No he wasn't. Ginuwine doesn't have any album touching 8701 or Confessions. Ginuwine was carried by Timbalands productions. All these cats like Chris Brown are Usher/R.Kelly clones

Just my opinion, but the TGT stuff is the best work from Ginuwine since his debut.

And by that I mean a cohesive sound where he sounded natural on every song.

100% Ginuwine had its moments but outside of the singles that album had some weak spots creatively

What are not legitimate singles?

Tribute to a Woman and Just Because.

Both them are official singles. "Just Because" was only released as a single internationally, Just like "Holler". There's even a music video:

So if "Just Because" doesn't count as a single, than "Holler" doesn't count either.

Also proof that "Tribute to a Woman" was also a single:

Ginuwine is a good singer I give him that, but he was just the one of the many "good singers" that were in the game back when R&B was in it's prime. I can bring up a bunch of underrated R&B singers, e.g. TQ, Ali, and even Mario (who is a one-hit wonder).

:dwillhuh: Mario isn't a 1-hit wonder. He had at least 1 hit on all 4 of his albums.

Ur basically proving my point bruh. They weren't mass marketed like the others. Lol I don't even remember if they even had Music Videos for em.

He doesn't have an album as good as Confessions. That has shyt to do with his singing and dancing ability. And like I said. Ginuwine made that shyt that Usher came back out doin fashionable first. HE was the first one out there cloning MJ moves n shyt. Gliding across the room with Fedora's on. shyt like that. I saw the shyt in real time. That shyt was played out before Ginuwine brought it back. And it's been here ever since.

Or maybe they just flopped as singles.

Ur wrong. The whole MJ mold thing came straight from Ginuwine who was literally the ONLY RnB artist doin that shyt in the mid 90s. Ginuwine brought that shyt back and made it fashionable for solo singers when no one was doin it. And white people till this day fukk wit PONY more than any Usher song that came out in the 90s.
Nah breh. I respect ur R&B knowledge, but I disagree.

Yes. White ppl love Pony, but outside of that they don't care about Ginuwine. Period. "Differences" is chart-wise his biggest single and that wasn't really a crossover smash like Pony. To a lesser degree Pony is like Ignition (remix) to white ppl. It's the 1 Ginuwine song they have in their entire collection. But I bet they have U Make Me Wanna or Nice & Slow, My Way, etc

But let's back this all the way up to 1993. Usher first single "Cal Me a MAck" He's wearing fedoras in the video, he's doing some light dancing, so Ginuwine didn't start that.

Secondly, they didn't know what to do with Usher. He was a kid but they put him with DeVante Swing and Puffy for his first two singles. They were trying to make him a kid singer who was appealing to adults. And it wasn't successful, so they turned him more pop/r&b

I just think it's laughable to say that Ginuwine influenced Usher. I will say Ginuwine brought back the solo entertainer Male R&B star role b/c after Bobby Brown, things kinda shifted to the R&B group. R. KElly said he only came out with Public Announcement because you had to be in a group back then to get on. Ginuwine brought showmanship back, but Usher didn't see Ginuwine and then decide to take dance lessons.

Did he release music videos for em? Cause I don't remember em. shyt u don't see me saying When Doves Cry wasn't an official single even tho that song was pure trash and flopped. Lol
Did you just skim through my post? I already posted the video for "Just Because".

"Tribute to a Woman" doesn't have a music video, but what does that matter? "Stingy" is 1 of Ginuwine's big hits & it doesn't have a music video either.

See people gettin it twisted like I'm tryna shyt on Usher. I'm not. I was defending him like crazy in another thread when people was tryna undermine his talent and put Chris Brown over him. But as far as Ginuwine goes. Yea we gonna have to respectfully disagree. Especially on the dancing shyt. Dude was the only one breakdancing and doin that Michael Jackson shyt. Usher came back out in full overhaul with how he was dancing. With JD the king of biters as his mentor I don't see how he didn't tell Usher to capitalize off of that.
