Yes I understand that out of wedlock births doesn't mean 100% of those kids will grow up in single parent homes. But the vast majority of them do. When you have 70% of african american births stemming out of marriage, don't you think that means a lot of black kids are being raised in single parent households? Come on man I know you see this, you're just trying to argue for no reason.First off being "born out of wedlock" tells you nothing if the child's upbringing. Plenty of children are born out if wedlock yet still grow up with both parents.
The big picture is this. When kids are raised in two parent households, they are much more likely to live a normal life and be productive members of society than kids born in single parent households. The difference is HUGE. Do you disagree with this?Plenty of people are born to married parents and end up being raised in a fukked up unstable home.
No it isn't. I know what statistic you're getting that from because I've seen other people misuse it. The statistic says that the out of wedlock pregnancy rate is GROWING slower than it has been in previous years. So instead of it growing like 2% a year, it's only jumped like 1% this year. But at the end of the day, if its grown from 69% to 70%, you still have a 70% out of wedlock pregnancy rate.Secondly the statistic in itself is misleading. Irresponsible pregnancies to young black mothers are at an all time low.
Well even if that were true, how does that help anything? You're saying married women have less kids, and unmarried single women without financial responsibility are having more kids than married couples? How does that help you? That is exactly what I am trying to point out to YOU! That is a problem. The problem is that married black women aren't having many babies at all, therefore the statistic gets skewed.
That still doesn't change the fact that no other race in this entire country has a 70% out of wedlock birth rate. If there are other communities across the world that have that same problem, then they have serious issues too. But my concern here is only what is going on with black people in america.Furthermore unwed babie are on the rise in the entire world. To try to paint this as a unique trait of black people is wrong on many levels.
No they don't. Poor whites, blacks, Mexicans, and anyone else you can name have all the same problems. They stem from poverty and social status, not race.[/quote]
