They are still there under the African Union Transitional Mission for Somalia (ATMIS) along with Burundi, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.
All troops are to leave at the end of this year. Unless the Somali government gets the AU and UN to extend it.

Had you seen anything recently on what the plan is for Dadaab?
Dadaab looks like its going to be in use indefinitely. Kenya's high court blocked the order to close it.
My old Qur'an teacher was born in Kismayo. He lived in Dadaab from 1991 to 2006 and then got a visa to come to the US in the lottery... he's still got friends there.
