lol once again our goofy ass so called leadership needs the mediation of outside regional and global hegemons to resolve issues with their neighbors.

Ethiopia gon stay on some hoe shyt until we have leaders that actually care about the country and the wider region. Just two seconds ago it was a tripartite between Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia as a means of combating the negative effects of western interests. And like clockwork, the sluts at Arat Kilo in Addis couldn’t wait to twerk for Washington’s interests when it appeared that they were gonna step outta line.

Who is responsible for the lack of a proper military in Somalia? What happened to what Siad Barre built? It's not tenable to keep relying on external parties for security.

Somalia was in general anarchy after Barre. The ICU was the closest thing to a functional govt and the Bush admin had the Woyanes go in and stomp them out. The other movement of that time, al Shabab, grew in prominence after that.

Somalia was under an arms embargo since the 1990s.

The clans took the mostly Soviet era weaponry to fight against each other during the civil war.

The Turks have been the leads in re-establishing a Somali national military and intelligence op

Somalia needs to start from scratch. No half measures. Create a Sawa. Kill two birds w/ one stone - Toughen up the men for a proper military, bring all the clans together and create a national unity amongst all this tribalism. It is a worthy project for the next generation.

Things are not looking good in the region, abiy is not backing down from his threats of invading north Somalia not for commercial purpose like a port but to establish a navy base, essentially annexing part of the awdal region. To counter, Somalia just signed a military deal with Egypt which will guarantee a proxy war.

Abiy is a madman that destroyed tigray region, currently engaging in battles with FANO amhara forces and now wants to open up another front with Somalia. I don't see him winning anything in the end but setting horn of africa decades back.
