Yes yes it’s finally happening :russ:

but tbh I think it’s whoever the west wants to take over the country if it doesn’t get Balkanized.

Amhara farmers FANO are getting packed we love to see it :banderas:
This is not good for anyone in the region, trust me.

It is truly unfortunate, I really thought Ahmed will get things done and work to connect the region. We are sick of wars, what is going on is truly a setback.

Seeing a lot more people arguing that entry of TPLF into Addis will be imminent in days :merchant: stunning turn of events if true.

Like I said when this conflict first started, it was a massive miscalculation by Abiy. Hard to believe that he claimed it would be over in a weeks back then.

What are these western powers doing? The UN, US, European union? They need to work to resolve this, now. The TPLF cannot go to the capital, Ethiopia will breakdown, this must be avoided at all costs.

Who are these people like Michael Rubin? Why are they heavily invested in Ethiopia affairs?

Gulf relations with Ethiopia grew closer under Abiy, zero indication they are opposed to him: UAE to give Ethiopia $3 billion in aid and investments

The water conflict w/ Egypt existed before him and continued after, that will remain consistent regardless of who is in power.

What indication is there that the TPLF are anti China and would counter their influence? They welcomed massive Chinese investment while in power (railroad to Djibouti, special economic zones, gas concession) and were among Chinas most strategic areas of economic influence on the continent

The reality is this war is driven by domestic Ethiopian politics, not by foreigners. Both sides are open to security cooperation and positive relations with the US, the only tensions between the US and Abiy started after the war began. Prior to it, he loved the West, spoke to Western outlets constantly, and spoke the language of economic liberalization.

That ceasefire was the real miscalculation. There was no reason to believe the TPLF would act in similar fashion. The excuses of rainy season and wanting farmers to work is bullshyt to me. If it weren’t for the fact that I’ve always hated Woyane and look at them as a destabilizing force I’d be so anti-Abiy. He’s really shown at times that he’s a novice statesman. Almost to the point that you wonder if he’s in cahoots with his old handlers.

I understand that Woyane have almost half a century of experience overall. But the military calculations of Abiy and the govt have been very questionable in some cases. You don’t call a ceasefire against an enemy that attacked you. Especially when you haven’t established very clear advantages and war is no longer viable for your opponent.

TPLF are power hungry, they're willing to turn their country upside down so that they don't lose their status. Hopefully Ethiopia prevails through this.

As long as the West continues to enable the TPLF it’s hard not to see this shyt ending in some real bloody Rwanda style action.

Neither side is going to budge on this. If Addis falls into bloodshed and chaos that old bytch Biden will have thousands right at his doorstep looking for answers. If the GOP was smart, they’d use the Christian Right as a way to further push Ethiopians/Eritreans to the right. Won’t surprise me at all to see Ethiopians in places like Colorado and Georgia to mobilize in favor of GOP candidates.

As long as the Dems continue to side with the TPLF. The Rethugs have a growing number of Ethiopian Americans willing to vote for them out of sheer hatred for Biden and his Obama era acolytes.

This is great. Hope Ethiopia balkanizes. I can't wait to start using the word, "Ethiopianize". :ahh:

@2Quik4UHoes I see you getting angry about the West's stance in this situation but they've been supportive of Abiy even during the first few weeks of the war until the the ENDF was exposed for committing multiple human rights violations all over Tigray. In other words, he became indefensible.

Had he cleaned them up within 4-5 months the West would've forgiven and forgotten since he was liberalizing Ethiopia's economy unlike the TPLF. He failed and is losing so the West is cutting him off to save face. :russ:

You're also mistaking our pleasure with this situation as some sort of support for the TPLF. We don't like or support them in anyway. They are just doing what they should've done 30 years ago which is carve up Ethiopia like we instructed and trained them to do in the 80s. :youngsabo:

Meles and Afwerki used to live in the same dorm in Mogadishu. One of them betrayed us and the other did what he was supposed to do and cut off Ethiopia from direct access to the sea which hobbles their economy. :birdman:

Anyway Ethiopian brehs, you shouldn't be angry with our position. We're like the Igbos of Nigeria. Somalis suffered the most under Ethiopia so we have the right to dislike it. :yeshrug:
