I mean you shouldn't have to discover a campsite or settlement to fast travel to it.
When traveling, there's no clear cut display on how the get where you want to go: Games like GTA and RDR flat out lay the path you should take, I have to keep checking the map for this game.

I think you can turn that option on under map

and although not a collectible, you also have to knock over all 23 training dummies in the Nora Region for the platinum.

I did all of them, the vantage points, banuk treasures, and half the metal flowers in a few hours with a few youtube videos.

Make sure you pick up the free sample box from each vendor you come across. I forget those often and sometimes they have free fast travel packs. I've never had less than 10 fast travel packs.

Buy a gold travel pack from the vendor at the end of the bridge at the entrance to meridian. 50 shards travel infinitely.
