That shyt is crazy and really puts into perspective just how badly films like battleship, john carter and jack the giant slayer flopped.

Before Id thought battleship's failure (209 million budget for a 65 million domestic box office) was overstated given that international sales had pumped out an additional 230 million to go along with the 65mil domestic.. i figured shyt, it still broke even and then some...

Too bad they only list the production budget for movies most of the time and not the marketing/ad campaign costs in addition. Would really put into perspective how much some of these movies like Hangover 3 (100 million budget? ) world war z, lone ranger and others are really putting on the line this summer

but taylor kitsch films always flop, should have had bradley cooper or somethig as the lead

This is one of the reason I want The Purge to succeed. Yeah, it's ridiculous, and and unrealistic but it's a new and original idea. I can't wail until The Lone Ranger blows up in Disney's face. We need more Silver Lining Playbooks and Life of Pis (Yes, its' not original but it was a adapted from a creative source.)

Disney sat on John Carter's rights for decades. Should have been a staple Sci-Fi franchise, but they fukked it up themselves. People don't know that the John Carter series of books essentially birthed Science Fiction and shyt like Superman, etc.

It's pathetic how they fukked that up.
