The title of the vid I embedded is misleading. R.A. hits a major point with what went wrong with hip hop in the first 2-3 min. Get a look:

this video is hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

Breh,
It's not rocket science.
The common African American did not purchase personal computers until they became more affordable around the mid 00's.

If you were an African American that had a personal computer in the 90's or early 00's you either had one because you came from a rich family or personal had money to afford one yourself and needed one that dealt with your career or schooling. They were too expensive back then to just go out and purchase one just because you wanted one compared to today.

We were late jumping on the technological revolution before personal computers became less expensive but best believe our blacks asses filled up every library and computer lab that allowed internet access.

Like I've said, back in the late 90's it was white kids bootlegging shyt first. All my white friends had personal computers in their household back in the day, it was normal for them.

Dude even drew the Wu-Tang logo on the side of his monitor, do you know how much a monitor was going for back in 1997?

I knew a lot of black folks who had computers in the early 00s. Pretty much all my friends had one since at least 1996 and we werent rich by anyones standard. The more important thing is, none of us needed a computer to have access to bootlegs once Napster hit. You couldnt enter a barbershop, beauty salon, gas station, or grocery store parking lot without the bootleg man offering you every cd that released that month. We had a bootleg man who made the rounds at my job. And if by some miracle you didnt have access to the bootleg man, your friend had a computer and he could make shyt for you. Were there bootlegs before then? Yes, but its a lot harder to mass produce and bootleg cassettes than CDs and there wasnt a free and easy method of obtaining the source material either. Like how bootleg movies didnt blow up until it became easy to burn DVDs.

Also yeah, white people were bootlegging too but white people made up 75-80% of the population then. They could afford to lose a portion of the market to bootlegging and still sell a shyt load of albums. Hip Hop was not afforded that luxury, especially once the love affair from whites died off.

When you let a bytch run your taste in anything in life, you are bound to be expendable, disposable, and eventually, humiliated.

when songs with name titles such as

Hanna Montana

Lex Luger

Ric Flair

Versace

Scooby Doo

John Doe

Johny Quest

Became accepted as hit records, to be fair it started with "white T" and "laffy taffy" .

Do u know how easy it is to hit a studio and create a song called "black beiber" over a monumental beat with a catchy hook ?

:pachaha:

This.
