He tackling aight with Cinci. Can't be a rback in the afc north and not tackle.

None of our corner been decent tacklers so I won't hold it against Newman.

Only decent tackler at corner that come to mind is Henry, Scandrick and Pete hunter.
Still, he wouldn't have been a good at safety because he didn't tackle well.

Newman was routinely gettin hurdled, drug, holding players up til the help came, ect. His biggest weakness was tackling which is essential plating safety.
Came in here to ...but...after really thinking about it...this praying mantis eye stalk having dude really wasn't THAT bad:ohhh:...

Good cover guy...
Good tackler...
Made a game changing play here and there...

Or...have we falling that low...that we want to return to the glory days of Gerald fukking Sensabaugh:to::to:
Sensabaugh was the definition of a bend but don't break player. He'd give up 2-20 yard catches on a possession as the help. Then catch a pick off deflection or scoop up a fumble and be posing on boys after the whistle like

I still laugh at how sensabaugh retired as a cowboy as if he was a cowboy hero

I used to hate when he would run 20 yds to whisper sweet nothings to a linebacker or dlineman then run back to his spot. I was always like what was that important:what: Then they would burned for 8-15 yds:beli:

The Bradie James 'returning to Dallas' retirement PC was sooo awkward too.

That's Jerry tho. Dude loves his players to a fault.

Waived:

WR Chris Boyd: The year off from football did him no favors. Love his height but did not always see him separate in routes. Would physically get beat up off the line and wasn’t as consistent catching the ball as he needed to be.

P Tom Hornsey: Was added to the roster late when Cody Mandell proved he couldn’t handle the responsibilities of being an NFL player. My initial impression of Hornsey’s work was how awful he could look in pregame -- then he gets to the game and he just hammers the ball. When I did see him get a chance to hold for Dan Bailey, I knew that he had little chance to make the roster.

LS Casey Kreiter: Was impressed with his work during training camp and in these preseason games. Would not be one bit surprised to see him snapping in the NFL this season. Accuracy was strong.

DE Adewale Ojomo: Better suited to play as a defensive end but had to take snaps inside at tackle. Just not strong enough to handle playing inside like that. Physically it was a bad matchup for him.

G Wayne Tribue: Reminded me physically of those guards that played in the 1970’s for the Los Angeles Rams, with their big barrel chests and short arms and legs. For a man his size, did not play strong and struggled with the necessary feet to sustain his blocks.

Released:

QB Caleb Hanie: Will be a quarterback that will sit on many Emergency Boards around the league this fall. Had some nice practices when he was called on to throw those drills working with the tight ends and linebackers. He still showed that he had something left in the tank against the Ravens early in the preseason, as well. Not the prettiest in the way he handles the position but did nothing to embarrass himself.

Waived/Injured:

TE Jordan Najvar: Freak injury in Miami late in that contest. Would have liked to have seen him get to the practice squad, get some work on the scout team and develop some strength. Now heading to the injured reserve, he will have plenty of time to work on that strength.

S Matt Johnson: On a personal note I feel terrible for this player because I know that he has the talent and ability to play in this league. It’s a shame that these scouts that fought for him and the coaches that stuck with him will never get to see him line up and play here.

CB Justin Green: Would have been nice to see him get an entire training camp with this club, but that wasn’t the case. After getting a few snaps against the Ravens, I was looking forward to seeing him play against the Dolphins and get some extensive work, but a shoulder injury robbed him of that opportunity.

LB DeVonte Holloman:The loss of Holloman in my book is right up there with some of the major ones that this defense has had to endure with Sean Lee and DeMarcus Lawrence. Holloman was this defense’s ace in the hole when it came to the number of linebacker positions that he could cover along with his special teams work. Every team needs a guy like Holloman on the roster. He will be missed.

CB Johnny Thomas: Will always remember him knocking a ball away from Terrance Mitchellin the Ravens game when it appeared that Mitchell had tracked the ball well in flight and was about to secure it for a sure interception. It was a nice range play but the wrong player.

Reserve/Injured:

DE Ben Gardner: I really thought this young man would have helped the defense with his high effort and motor play, but instead he will just get more work in the weight room developing his body. There are some good traits here that can be used in the future.

Reserve/NFI:

DT Amobi Okoye: I am honestly surprised that he has a chance to once again resume his career after a serious medical condition. His 2012 tape for the Bears brought him here and the willingness of the front office to keep him around shows that there could be a future for him at some point this season.

I'm disappointed that we didn't get a chance to see any of Ben Gardner this offseason. I was curious to see what he would like.

What does reserve/nfl mean for amobi okoye? @dtownreppin214
NFI is the same as PUP or IR meaning he'll have to sit out the first 6 games minimum. The only difference is NFI is non-football related injury or illness, PUP/IR is football related injuries.
