I grew up around mexicans my whole life and a large group of ya'll love kissing white people's ass.
it's like ya'll have this idea of what being an American is and kissing white ass is at the top of your list.

Breh, as an LA County native just like you, I can relate.

Some of these Mexicans don't realize their Mexican until one of their
white friends bring up anything related to welfare or immigration.
Then the tone of the conversation changes real quick

It's really because for all intents and purposes a lot of them are "White".
And the only real differential here is their last names or their accent.
When people can't truly tell if they're hispanic (basically if they aren't dark enough
) they (usually white folks) assume they're white anyways.
That is, until they find out their last name is Gomez or Guiterrez.

I can't speak for all California hispanics but many of the ones in my area
(which was largely conservative....) were damn near indistinguishable from
their white peers when it came to views on black people, politics, music taste,
clothing and even religion.

I think every minority group that comes here (or is brought here in chains) to America goes through this phase of wanting to please, and be like the white man. Yes even us blacks used to do it. When black dudes would straighten their hair all in an effort to look white. Even now there are still black c00ns, so why are any of us surprised that other minorities have these type of complexes within their communities? Not saying its right, but just something to think about I guess.

The thing is the Asians want to be in acceptance so bad in the US. The Mexicans are more fearful it appears. They bang and look out for each other, but if white person says jump. They will ask how high. Not all of course. I agree it's an immigrant thing.
