HipHop is only ruined if you are stuck on 90s HipHop and upset that It's no longer the popular sound

it's simple the SOUTH provided a better business model.....

regardless how horrible these songs may sound to the SO CALLED HIP HOP PURIST....

they are marketable to a demographic which still makes HIP HOP relevant in this modern era.....

Hip Hop is like ENERGY it doesn't DIE it just CHANGES....

And what you have with pathetic media outlets like HIPHOPDX and a lot of the pseudo B boys on here is that they can't adjust to the CHANGE

And haven't accepted the fact that they have gotten OLD :manny:

These are the only right answers.

It's also the south's fault for putting out garbage music as a region for years. You can't blame cacs for everything. The south as a whole needs more artists with substance
Yet y'all sleep on KRIT

Once New Yorkers stopped being ashamed of liking South tracks, it took off. Try being a T.I. Fan in NY in 2003. You woulda got clowned. You could probably only get away with being a Juvenile fan at that time. Now that whole sound is just catchy. You can play it anywhere, the gym, the club, in your headphones on the train, wherever. Boom bap you almost have to be in the right mood for.

I actually like Krit & some of his production

Didn't even have to read the article to know it was wack.

fukk HipHopDX and their white ass 'real hiphop' editors. If anything, the South improved the genre by giving us UGK, Geto Boys, Outkast, Cunninlynguists and Swishahouse. And Killer Mike, KRIT, Future, Thugga, and Gibbs are some of the best rappers out right now. Internet nerds and critics don't know shyt.

THIS is the chit that is killing hip-hop!!

There are alternatives and unlike the 90s....you can stream and discover new artists for free.

Get out of your own way and stop comparing 2015 to previous eras.

I never blamed cacs.

Krit and Killer Mike are there and I actually fukk with Krit heavy.

Turn up music is fun to listen to and great for the club. If people wanted that music from the south they'd purchase it. Instead Cole and Kendrick are occupying that lane.

What's garbage to you is hot to someone else

Whoever owns the sound owns hiphop, whos fukking with the souths production levels right now, matter of fact the past decade:wow:

You cant deny the souths innovation and creativity in that regard,if you do,your a liar:ufdup:

South has had several different sounds and movements in the past decade from snap, crunk, futuristic, the new trap sound....How can you deny they innovations:childplease:

What new style or sound has NY created in this past decade?I'll wait:francis:?

Cali has Mustard and the hyphy sound, but pretty much everybody copying Mustard right now:francis:...And to be honest we just lack the rappers at this point,we use to have the coolest nikkas and best and most interesting characters in hiphop:mjlol:....Over the top gangsters, lyrical clicks, murderous d-boys,militants,comedic d-boys,smooth gangsters, regular street nikkas who just spit game, and cant forget the pimpin:mjcry:...all who had presence and personality.

The south now has all that PLUS the sound currently:mjcry:

But people luved the innanet and how it gave new artist opportunity right:sas1:?Well this is what you get....you wanted to give nikkas the opportunity to bypass the gauntlet known as the streets and this is what you get....the wackest, corniest nikkas can bypass having to be the least bit authentic because they can just appeal to some blog hipsters online who will blow they name up:snoop:....No need to try to appeal to people in your city/region when you can bypass them all together and sound like whoevers hot from somewhere else and get on:snoop:.

Other regions just gotta bring they own innovation when it comes to sound like ATL been doing, and bringing more unique characters and identitys to the table.

I understand what you're saying & there's a time & place for all types of music. But on the flip side when there's a large segment of heads wanting better quality of music you can't ignore that. Especially better music in the mainstream.

As a nikka from Atlanta the South didn't ruin hip hop, club culture ruined hip hop. :wtb:

People always quick to blame the south for what be on the radio but yall never show love to the cats in the game lyrically spitting. :sas2:

You people made your choice during the Weezy era when Just Us League was bubbling and Little Brother couldn't mass market. No body remember field mob, some of the sharpest cats from the dirt of Georgia. :mjcry:

The indie scene in the south shyts on almost any scene out there but the commercial stuff really makes us look bumpkin as hell. :francis:

If they want better music they should create it or support artists they like. This isn't an issue....its nostalgic gripe by older heads and hate from backpackers.

Looking towards mainstream to validate your own taste is a fools errand.

The greatest thing about this era is ease of access and technology.

Cats talk about trap and southern hip hop being fun and having to be in the right mood for boom bap like there aint over 30 years of classics...many that made you dance and where fun...The south has a lot of dope artist..Krit, Kast, Jay Elec, Killer Mike,T.I., etc so I don't wanna say the south killed hip hop cuz 1. hip hop is not dead and 2. it's deeper than the south...but the truth is the truth...the south has played a part in the decline in hip hop...remember when waka was the next big thing...they pimped what they wanted out of him and now idk where he at...the south as it exist are making music u can turn up to for a minute and than dispose of without a care...theres no real love for the artist...Outkast, Goodie Mobb...you loved those cats cuz they made music u could feel...that steak and potatoes meals...now...we got pop tarts...both literally and figuratively...I think a big part in the decline in hip hop are the co signs...whether its a q-tip or raekwon giving love to a Migos or whoever but also it deeper when its artist from that area...if i was a og from the south like Outkast or whoever I would have spoke up about whats going on and we can fix it...but cats just see they home getting love and look the other way...I hate 2015 new york hip hop...except for a few like skyzoo who made an album and not a collection of party tunes..idk...its deep...but for ppl who been with hip hop...its not the same...and it goes deeper than just hating on the south...
