I sit behind home plate for some games when Yu Darvish was with the Rangers, and his fastball was low 90's...man when his arms was extended you would just hear the snap of the catchers glove and never see the ball, until he threw it back to Yu. I was like aint no fukking way :mjlol:.

Watching baseball live from behind home plate is like watching real life magic. It's like the pitch, the swing, and the catch happen all at the same time :mjlol:. It made it impossible to follow. I thought the shyt would be cool but after the 3rd time I was like yeah never sitting behind home plate again I can't even tell what the fukk is going on. Can't even tell it's a hit until dude is taking his shin guards off at 1st base :mjlol:
I sat behind the plate for a classic game between the Nats And Brewers

Sanchez wasn’t throwing past 90 and the balls just magically entered the catchers glove.

Just straight smoke. Jordan Lyles was throwing 95 and above. I never saw a pitch, just heard them In the glove.

I am more impressed by umpires being able to see the movement of pitches.

And I agree. Outside of the spread in the club section, that is a bad way to watch a gamez

shyts different. When I was playing and growing up watching it, it was rare for guys to be throwing 95+ mph. Now when you turn a game on feels like every reliever throwing damn near 100.

Hitters hitting that shyt too. Times is wild in sports
I remember first watching Strasburg and he said his off speed/change up was 91. That was a decent fastball when we were kids.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Yep. Laying down a bunt is low-key one of the hardest things to do and to do well.

And a lot of these relievers are hitting 99-101 with movement. Sweeping sliders that look just like a fastball when released and shyt.
When you only have to pitch 1 or 2 innings a game and you have a shyt load of relievers, it makes hitting harder than ever.

It’s rare to even see starters make it to the 8th inning now.

Lower level behind the plate seats are not good if you actually want to watch the game. As you said, you can’t see the ball when it’s pitched and you can’t tell where it’s going after it’s hit. That’s why I gotta laugh when I hear fans boo a pitch, I’m like none of you fukkers even saw the ball, you don’t know if it was a strike or not.

Also it’s a huge disconnect between what the fans perceive and reality. What I mean by that is we all have stood on a basketball court and shot a 3 pointer. We know how far away it is. So when a player is out there bricking wide open shots you know he stinking it up because you can hit those from time to time.

In baseball, an extremely tiny amount of people know what it’s like to see a pitch above 75mph. And if you have it was a fastball. No MLB pitcher is throwing a 75mph fastball. I’m here to tell you, a breaking ball coming at you at 85 mph will TERRIFY you. I experienced that and the moment he released the ball my mind said get the fukk out the box or that’s your ass. Well my mind was gone but my body was still there and I hopped out after the ball had already passed me. Right then and there I knew all them “what if” day dreams I had needed to STOP.
Baseball maybe to skillful for regular people to enjoy casually

Bullshyt. You not hitting 90 MPH pitches unless you’re a high level college player or a pro.

I played baseball for 8 years from a kid till my teens & I can barely hit balls at the cage that’s 60 mph
I can hit 90 in the batting cages, lowkey fastball probably the easiest pitch to hit you just have to time it right and have a good swing

Imagine trying to hit a 100mph fastball then a 85 mph slider and then a 99mph sinker and then add in the location, it’s a damn guessing game.

Nah, imaging trying to identify the pitch as it’s coming out and then still having time to hit it.

To my knowledge, I don’t think batter try to hit the ball when they swing. The try to swing at a location based on where they think the ball is going and the speed it’s traveling.

Technology coming in the clutch to the aid of hitters
:blessed:

Low-key, this is cool, but it completely removes the element of fear of getting hit for batters which is always in the back of your mind when you step in the box.

Ya think its a game. There are literally a dime a dozen of pitchers who are elite elite on launch point, movement, sequence of pitches, placement, and velocity.

Like can ya fathom a 100mph sinker. Wells Hicks throws on it on the reg. Thats how the game has evolved.

I remember going to the batting cages and hitting 90 MPH pitches. Didn’t take long to time the pitches and get my Tony Gwynn on. I did remember thinking how much harder it would have been by adding the human element to it though (pitch variety, etc.).
not to mention, just cause you make contact doesnt mean you get a "hit"
