I sit behind home plate for some games when Yu Darvish was with the Rangers, and his fastball was low 90's...man when his arms was extended you would just hear the snap of the catchers glove and never see the ball, until he threw it back to Yu. I was like aint no fukking way :mjlol:.

Watching baseball live from behind home plate is like watching real life magic. It's like the pitch, the swing, and the catch happen all at the same time :mjlol:. It made it impossible to follow. I thought the shyt would be cool but after the 3rd time I was like yeah never sitting behind home plate again I can't even tell what the fukk is going on. Can't even tell it's a hit until dude is taking his shin guards off at 1st base :mjlol:
I sat really close at a game at fenway last year, and it is literally impossible to follow the ball from the pitcher to the plate. You kind of have to just start looking at the catcher as soon as the windup starts

I remember in the 7th or 8th grade I was at a baseball camp and they had a a MLB pitcher there (forget his name) showing some technique or whatever. A couple of us wanted to see if we could hit off of him. I'm left handed and everything I read about it being an advantage against righties and curveballs was bullshyt. That shyt was fast and looked like it was going to hit me every single time :damn:

I still think hitting a baseball probably the hardest thing to do in all the major sports.
It is something else at those speeds. Grew up playing it non stop (switching between both softball and baseball constantly) - I had to chill out with one of them cause it was completely messing up my swing and reaction times everytime I went back to hardball. And we aren't even talking 90mph like the majors, this is like 65-70mph and shyt was still :damn: at times, especially with any movement like a breaking ball or curveball

I think that's why I never cared about roids in MLB (for hitters anyway) because they still have to have that hand/eye coordination and reaction time to even connect first :pachaha:

Lower level behind the plate seats are not good if you actually want to watch the game. As you said, you can’t see the ball when it’s pitched and you can’t tell where it’s going after it’s hit. That’s why I gotta laugh when I hear fans boo a pitch, I’m like none of you fukkers even saw the ball, you don’t know if it was a strike or not.

Also it’s a huge disconnect between what the fans perceive and reality. What I mean by that is we all have stood on a basketball court and shot a 3 pointer. We know how far away it is. So when a player is out there bricking wide open shots you know he stinking it up because you can hit those from time to time.

In baseball, an extremely tiny amount of people know what it’s like to see a pitch above 75mph. And if you have it was a fastball. No MLB pitcher is throwing a 75mph fastball. I’m here to tell you, a breaking ball coming at you at 85 mph will TERRIFY you. I experienced that and the moment he released the ball my mind said get the fukk out the box or that’s your ass. Well my mind was gone but my body was still there and I hopped out after the ball had already passed me. Right then and there I knew all them “what if” day dreams I had needed to STOP.

I remember going to the batting cages and hitting 90 MPH pitches. Didn’t take long to time the pitches and get my Tony Gwynn on. I did remember thinking how much harder it would have been by adding the human element to it though (pitch variety, etc.).

Bullshyt. You not hitting 90 MPH pitches unless you’re a high level college player or a pro.

I played baseball for 8 years from a kid till my teens & I can barely hit balls at the cage that’s 60 mph

Arrieta was on Pardon My Take last year I think and said at his peak, a untrained hitter wouldnt be able to get a fair bunt of him, even if given 100 tries.

I thought it was cap but now...:mjtf:
I think it would be much harder for an untrained hitter to get a fair bunt off a major league pitcher than to luck into making contact with a regular swing.

That’s why I don’t knock umpires for fukking up calls. They probably be guessing half the time, especially if it’s close.

“Ball” :dahell:
“Strike” :lupe:
