Nah, imaging trying to identify the pitch as it’s coming out and then still having time to hit it.Imagine trying to hit a 100mph fastball then a 85 mph slider and then a 99mph sinker and then add in the location, it’s a damn guessing game.
Hitters must have world class hand eye coordination. Makes you appreciate even the .250 hitters.Nah, imaging trying to identify the pitch as it’s coming out and then still having time to hit it.
To my knowledge, I don’t think batter try to hit the ball when they swing. The try to swing at a location based on where they think the ball is going and the speed it’s traveling.
That’s why I don’t knock umpires for fukking up calls. They probably be guessing half the time, especially if it’s close.
“Ball”
“Strike”
FactsThe hardest thing in sports to do
Bullshyt. You not hitting 90 MPH pitches unless you’re a high level college player or a pro.
I played baseball for 8 years from a kid till my teens & I can barely hit balls at the cage that’s 60 mph
The fact that a bunting stance has your head closer to the baseball scares the shyt out of me. I honestly don’t think I could even step in the batters box for a bunt.I think it would be much harder for an untrained hitter to get a fair bunt off a major league pitcher than to luck into making contact with a regular swing.
Man I'd be scared of trying to bunt and getting my fingers smashed. That would probably hurt more than getting hit anywhere elseThe fact that a bunting stance has your head closer to the baseball scares the shyt out of me. I honestly don’t think I could even step in the batters box for a bunt.
Lower level behind the plate seats are not good if you actually want to watch the game. As you said, you can’t see the ball when it’s pitched and you can’t tell where it’s going after it’s hit. That’s why I gotta laugh when I hear fans boo a pitch, I’m like none of you fukkers even saw the ball, you don’t know if it was a strike or not.
Also it’s a huge disconnect between what the fans perceive and reality. What I mean by that is we all have stood on a basketball court and shot a 3 pointer. We know how far away it is. So when a player is out there bricking wide open shots you know he stinking it up because you can hit those from time to time.
In baseball, an extremely tiny amount of people know what it’s like to see a pitch above 75mph. And if you have it was a fastball. No MLB pitcher is throwing a 75mph fastball. I’m here to tell you, a breaking ball coming at you at 85 mph will TERRIFY you. I experienced that and the moment he released the ball my mind said get the fukk out the box or that’s your ass. Well my mind was gone but my body was still there and I hopped out after the ball had already passed me. Right then and there I knew all them “what if” day dreams I had needed to STOP.
shyts different. When I was playing and growing up watching it, it was rare for guys to be throwing 95+ mph. Now when you turn a game on feels like every reliever throwing damn near 100.No wonder baseball is dying
batting cages is just straight line fastballsI remember going to the batting cages and hitting 90 MPH pitches. Didn’t take long to time the pitches and get my Tony Gwynn on. I did remember thinking how much harder it would have been by adding the human element to it though (pitch variety, etc.).
Yep. Laying down a bunt is low-key one of the hardest things to do and to do well.I think it would be much harder for an untrained hitter to get a fair bunt off a major league pitcher than to luck into making contact with a regular swing.

Hitters hitting that shyt too. Times is wild in sports
