Robert Downey Jr was old already when he started Iron Man. Cavil has to be younger than RDJ when he did the first movie.

Tony Stark is a character who is a grown man though. The X-Men start out as teenagers, even if they didn't go back that far Cavill still isn't playing an early 20s Cyclops.

There's no reason to touch batman. Batman made bank and was a critical success. Gunn can have Pattinson do w/e and stick with him because agewise he also fits in with stuff. Also Matt's Batman had none of the Snyder stuff on him.

Casual movie going fans is why these films make the bank they do, not nerds. Top Gun is a weird example because those werent nerds, they were casual movie going ppl and ppl who fukked with the original and/or Cruise.

The nerds will still go to conventions..........and they will still go to these superhero movies no matter what. These companies know this. The nerds are just vocal minority.
