I feel like Nintendo’s first party thrive based off of nostalgia. Where Sony introduces new characters and new worlds with each generation. I feel like in terms of cinematic and combination of gameplay they are leagues ahead of both Nintendo and Xbox with there first party titles. But I feel Nintendo first party titles hold up better in terms of longevity meaning once you complete the story of the game there’s a lot to do after to complete 100 percent of the game.

The funny thing is most people don’t even care about most of those nintendo IP outside of smash which is why they started filling the roster with 3rd party characters.

Half dozen fire emblem characters from games not even released state side

Duck hunt

Most of those characters are from long dead IP that were gone before half the smash audience were even born. That proves absolutely nothing.

They will continue to ignore destruction all star jsut came out and the next big PlayStation exclusive is an all ages platformer.

Until Sony has multiple 30+ year old IPs that sell in the millions when they drop, NOPE! The Legend of Zelda first dropped on the NES in 1986 and the best game in the series dropped in 2017 and sold millions of copies...that’s some legendary shyt.

Good games but you're fighting the impossible fight right now.

Nintendo doesn't care about story driven games largely.
They care about game play mechanics.

Hence Metroid Prime playing like a game from 20 years in the future, in 2003.
Hence Botw taking open worlds back to school.
Hence Splatoon breaking the team shooter in half and rebuilding it.

And they've made the most popular fighting game in the world for the past 20 years.

Nintendo isn't interested in remaking The Road or Indiana Jones but with quick time events.
They vastly outsell those games anyways so what's the point?
