yes, easily too and I say this as a hardcore Nas fan. NLU ticks all the boxes by orders of magnitudes better than any other diss.

bars check (though the bars are the weakest aspect of the song)
viciousness/disrespect? check
mainstream appeal? check
cultural impact? check check check

I will say though, out of the whole beef my fav song is actually Euphoria
“Euphoria” was for rap fans.. anybody unbiased would say so. I personally thought it was done after that, but I knew the machine Drake had behind him. “Not like us” was the commercial nuke. It’s literally a commercial rap bee masterpiece cause it was accessible to everyone… hence anybody in a competition citing it

Not better than no Vaseline , cube ripped nwa to shreds.that’s one of the most vicious diss tracks you’ll ever hear

Ether always been overrated imo

Hit ‘em up? :comeon:

Euphoria was always the best diss joint to me

Biggest diss track for sure, botted or not….it was a massive hit

We need to see its impact on Drakes career though. It seems like he’s still the guy, but we won’t know for sure until his solo album drops.

If Drake ends up shrugging it off and going back to the top of the rap game then it won’t age well at all compared to the greats. If his solo album flops and has a lack of interest then it’s the GOAT diss without question.

Well then we gotta remove ether from the all time greats as well. Cause it didn't do a damn thing to jays popularity. He still continued to outsell everybody and then literally became nas's boss

Did hit em up hurt bigs popularity?....Did no Vaseline hurt dre's popularity?.....when you already have a massive core fanbase, diss tracks aren't gonna make them all turn on you. Doesn't matter how scathing they are. As you can see from all the drake dikk suckers on here like @iliketurtles, the fans of a losing rapper will typically just stay in denial and continue sucking that dikk.

Diss tracks should be judged based on the quality and cultural impact they had. Not necessarily on how many fans a rapper lost because of them.

Nas stans acting like Nas was unaffected by Takeover forget the mock lynching which is a crash out in an of itself for a “conscious” rapper lol

Nas wasn’t affected by Takeover. He thought it was garbage and wasn’t even going to respond until Jungle convinced him that the streets was taking it seriously.

Nas WAS angry about the shyt Jay said about Destiny on Supaugly. Thats where hanging the Jay-Z robot came from. Nas was going to dead him for that disrespect. He said it himself that day on the Power 105 rant.

It was more of him trying to really bury Jay but crash out nonetheless. Either way nikkas mad at how Drake is handling it but literally NO rapper has had to handle what he’s handling and on this level. I think most rappers from the past would’ve prolly tried to get rid of Kendrick on some street shyt. Lol

Drake filed a goddamn lawsuit. A LAWSUIT. For losing a battle he BEGGED for.

He was at that point, dude got on the radio talking about Nas was too vulgar :mjlol: . Basically filed one without doing so. And Jay is built differently/a more polarizing figure. Nas would have had Drake committing suicide on diss date. I'm surprised at your stance on this.

Once you file a lawsuit for a battle you begged for I can’t respect you. Jay crashed out, made a terrible response with Supaugly, challenged Nas to a boxing match, went on vacation and came back trying to get a round two poppin that wasn’t ever going to happen. But these are all things MEN within reason do when they take a big L to another man. It can be explained. And most importantly, you can come back from it.

You CANNOT come back from getting the law involved. Not when YOU escalated the shyt. Jay escalated and started the battle off with Takeover. Even in the midst of his losing he understood this is what could come with the territory.

Drake has taken no accountability whatsoever. The same man who said Kendrick beat his wife, wasn’t the father of his own children, and was molested as a child, filed a LAWSUIT over being called a pedophile. I’ll give Jay a thousand passes over Drake’s punk ass. Jay threw his little tantrum, but in the end conceded defeat, no matter how his fans try to rewrite history today, we all in real time heard Jay admit defeat on BP2. Drake engaged in an all out, no holds barred lyrical fisticuffs and then ran got the law involved after he didn’t like the fact he got his face beat in.

fukking disgusting

He filed a lawsuit against UMG for shady tactics. Not Kendrick. And like I said. Jay was ready to box Nas for losing the battle and people just saying fukk Jay Z. Imagine if he had the WORLD screaming Jay is a Pedo. Who the fukk knows what Jay would've done. Jay begged for the battle with Nas too. And still took the loss like a sore loser. Still cried. Still wanted to fight. Nas performing Ether at Superbowl would've made Jay wanna smoke that nikka. Guaranteed. If Jay had to deal with what Drake dealing with he would probably see Kendrick and beat him up on camera.

I feel like it’s different with Drake and this diss

Saying you are ugly and taking karate classes, or I fukked your girl is one thing

Calling someone a pedo, destroying their brand and trying to end their career is another.

The purpose of this diss is solely to fukk up Drake’s life and knock him off the top. Beef is different now because of the social media era. I think we need to see the lasting impacts of this one before it can be judged.
