That was j cole marketing scheme. Lol you still don't get it ? J cole played soooo many people.

You think the label didn't make the calls to have j cole perform on letterman , perform a song that wasn't on the cd. ?? The white man manipulated all that . Don't compare j cole activism to shyt.

I didnt say that his activism is equal to 1960s SNCC or SCLC activism :comeon:

And if J Cole's non-criminal and pro-activist image is somehow all the invention of the "label marketing scheme" (which I dont actually believe), then fine. It's better to have an artist like Cole selling records because of "marketing" than an artist like Chief Keef.

Of course the label helps Cole (because their concern is profit) but that doesnt mean it's all a "marketing scheme". Did the label tell J Cole to protest anonymously in NYC after the Garner verdict (a protest in which Cole wasnt even recognized till some random dude later tweeted a photo of Cole in the middle of the crowd)

Wu don't disrespect cacs no more because cacs keep them fed. :lolbron: Go to a Wu show today, the only nikkas there are the Wu. I remember some of my homies were scalping Wu tickets outside of a Wu show and saw nothing but a sea of cacs and said "Who's playing? Dave Matthews?" :heh: Back in 93', 94', there were no fukks given about cacs on part of the Wu. :usure: ODB used to get on staged talmbout "Plymouth Rock landed on US". :mjlol: If you were the only cac at a Wu show at some run-down random hood venue in Brooklyn back in 93' when ODB starts talking that shyt, you better mob the fukk out. :demonic:

That's why I mentioned the kids, most young blacks don't even know the Wu or consider them Larry Holmes garden status, so why would internet militants expect them to alienate the people that keeps their family fed? they are not some early 20 ex goons living or their advance anymore, they have responsibilities and shyt. :yeshrug:

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
I consider myself a Kendrick fan, and I dont agree with what he said on Billboard, nor do I think he is a "savior " of hip hop (although i'd much prefer music going in HIS direction than the autotune, leaned out styles that Weezy brought upon the rap game) since hip hop doesnt need saving

However, my views on Kendrick Duckworth the person are different than Kendrick Lamar the rapper/artist

I've had to learn how to separate the two for all rappers. I couldnt picture myself missing out on some dope hip hop from Lupe, for example, just because he was raised on Spice 1 and 8 Ball and forgot some ATCQ lyrics and didnt apologize for it.

Basically when I support the rapper, that means i support the ART, the MUSIC, not his opinions.

I dunno, just wish he would shut the fukk up and make more music. nikka drops a classic album and now thinks he needs to be the social barometer for how all black people are supposed to act and think.
:dwillhuh:Dude answers questions in interviews and he's the social barometer for how all black people are supposed to act/think?

I definitely had issues with with what he said about Ferguson, but I couldn't care any less about what he said about Iggy. All dude said was that Iggy was doing her thing, and that people have been tough on her. It's not like he gave a ringing endorsement and told people to cop her album. Still I don't get how all of this says he's a sellout. Dude has dropped one song since his album dropped, and that song was about self love. I'm still excited about the album, he hasn't given me any reason to think it'll be wack. Let's listen to a new album before calling him a sellout.

Either way, the pedestal people put him on was too high in the first place. He makes thoughtful music, and he's arguably the best out, but that doesn't mean that he has to be the next black leader, or even that he's going to be the eloquent speaker that Killer Mike is.

Plus, I don't think it's even been that long since GKMC came out. Dude toured like crazy the year after it dropped, went on 4-5 tours that year. And a lot of people would say that nothing better than GKMC has dropped since then, so :yeshrug: I'm fine with waiting
