Shiii I did lowkey! All my siblings, cousins , friends etc found a significant other/had kids I’m the only one who didn’t. I’m 32 going on 33 and my parents gave up on me .

Sometimes I say damn am I ever going to find a wife? I mean I fukked so much girls but at the end of the day every man wants a wife. Idk if I’ll ever find love again but I look at the positives, I’m able to do whatever I want (Travel, eat good, buy fly shyt)

I read a statistic that 1 in 4 people will be single forever and I think I’m in that group sadly. All good tho! Just focused on getting $$$ Everyone’s not gonna find love

But only for other people. I know it exists, but for me? I dunno.

I'll admit, though. I regret trying to be serious about love, building with somebody etc. in my 20s- early 30s, cause I got chewed up and spit out. Everybody else was just having their fun and using me for a safe space/rest haven. "good" girls, "bad" girls, nerd girls, alt girls, church girls, etc etc

Now, when a girl shows interest, I don't even take it seriously. I don't trust intentions. they throw pitches and I don't even swing.

I feel like I'm only good enough to cheat with or get cheated on.

I wish I woulda paid attention to Suga Free sooner.

you described my feelings EXACTLY in this post. I’m 45 years old now. Done bedded and smutted out some of the finest women this beautiful state of California done had to offer in my younger prime days. Had all of my fantasies and desires fulfilled. Never lied to myself and saw myself as the husband type. I liked a variety of p*ssy and a quiet house too much to pigeon hole myself in a marriage. And now, that I’m older, I just will ride off into the sunset peacefully. Trying to find a woman in her forties who is not full of emotional baggage, full of attitude, and who won’t damage my peace of mind and financial wellbeing is an exercise in futility and an impossibility at this point. So, at 45, with literally hundreds of bodies under my belt, I’m hanging up my Magnums Even Jordan, Tyson, and Mike Vick had to retire at some point. Father Time catches up to us all. I had a good run and zero regrets

Honestly brew, a younger woman from the West Indies/Africa or a widow are your best options unless you find someone that got divorced a while back and is healed.

Good to hear and congrats dude

But I think the giving up stuff comes from the economy. A lot of people can’t afford homes and renting is just as bad in ALOT of North American cities. That in itself can force young peoples decisions on family planning. We can act like mental health, covid and gender wars are the main culprit but I always attest that when a population is more empowered financially, people’s life decisions become less complex and gives them greater flexibility.

I agree this is part of it but these issues have been brewing for a while. OP posted this years before Covid and inflation got out of control.

Black fertility and marriage though started to crater after 2008 so the economy is definitely a factor.

I think I've given up. I don't want a significant other anymore.

There was a time last year when I pondered about my later years and having a wife. All of my siblings are married with kids. I look at the joy it brings and wanted that.

But at my age you're not going to find a woman of similar age who hasn't already had children or isn't jaded by past experience.

I don't want to be the Grandpa looking dad going to the parents evening. Or have a kid who's niece or nephew is older than them.

I wouldn't mind a companion. Somebody to go on holiday with. But that's about it.

I didn’t “give up” life was good overall. I was happy. If you asked me direct I wouldn’t have thought it’s was likely but I wasn’t at a point of saying it wouldn’t happen.

She was always transparent about her shortcomings, what she had down to move past issues and overall wanting to work on the relationship to make it work. When you find someone that doesn’t judge you and basically commits to walking beside you then you just kind of know. In a way she was willing to build with me as a person.
