Are you reading the same study as me? They don't mention IQ at all. It is not in the paper. They didn't do any cognitive tests in this study. This is "psuedoscience" because of the laughable way they conducted this investigation.

even if weed killed as much of a population as alcohol or cigarettes does its still only illegal for court/prison/police revenue. let the same government that allows alcohol tell you you can't take a plant that has 0 recorded deaths, brehs.
this is why they have to come out with these half-ass studies that really conclude nothing (the researchers themselves say they need funding for a larger sample size) GUESS WHAT. They're gonna get more funding if they can scare people into thinking marijuana changes brain structure, despite NICOTINE, ALCOHOL, and CAFFEINE have been proven to alter brain structure....Why does no one care about the studies about those three substances?

a non-toxic substance that our brain has natural receptors for (thc receptors) negatively alters the very structure of the brain?? Alcohol, cocaine, nicotine and other drugs use and effect the brains dopamine receptors and GABA receptors...marijuana uses the brains own natural thc receptors for its effects..

The lead author of the paper stated that marijuana shouldn't be legalized and that no one under the age of 30 should use marijuana. If marijuana actually caused dangerous brain abnormalities, do you seriously think the government wouldn't be plastering it all over everything? It's obvious cigarettes cause cancer, alcohol causes liver failure and cancer, etc. Marijuana has been use for long enough that any particularly negative qualities would be OBVIOUS.
