That's an interesting perspective, but what crime was committed by say - Rodney King Jr. that warranted him to be brutally beaten at the hands of LAPD?
What if an inmate is wrongfully convicted and receives the same treatment?
I don't think it should be as cut and dry as saying "stay away from crime", when those that have sworn to uphold the law abuse it to the furthest extent.
You're right it definitely isn't cut and dry.
The common thread besides alotta officers being fukkboys and prejudice is non-compliance.
Usually people wrongfully convicted are not coming in prison to start trouble. They lay down when instructed, they're trying to get home.
Officers are charged with care, custody and CONTROL. If you deny them this, you open the door to what's supposed to be controlled violence.
So telling an officer you're not going to cuff up, refusing to return to your cell, basically refusing any lawful order opens you to getting that ass kicked. It's not hard to understand.
