For the most part, the majority of the country is a joke. The only good thing they have going for it is their ability to hoard money. But that’s only dependent on if you’re the one holding the money.

This country, with all of its wealth, could be a utopia on earth for everyone who lives here. We could allocate our riches for univeral healthcare, free education from K to college, affordable housing, universal income, and and more - with plenty of money left over and while remaining militarily dominant. But that’ll never happen because most cacs in America don’t want any of those programs to benefit black people. Obama initiated an affordable healthcare plan supported by a majority of Americans, but Republicans have fought to overturn it because their constituents - many of whom enjoying the healthcare it’s afforded them since being signed into law - don’t want the ungrateful blacks receiving ANY adequate healthcare that isn’t financially painful to avail. And on top of that, there literally are next to zero jobs in cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Camden etc. black people moved to those cities to work manufacturing jobs and those jobs have largely left the country. And in the big rich cities that have come up in the last 20 years, black folks in the hood have been left out of the come up. I'm from San Francisco and black people have been pretty much pushed out of the city entirely because that city has come up so much since the 90's. And the remaining blacks in SF stay in the projects making $15K a year and less. Areas where you have hella black people making $50K a year and over have a higher cost of living like the DMV area.

This is easy to believe. Have any Coli brehs seen a city like Baltimore or Detroit? The poverty is surreal. Even in rich cities like DC and San Francisco, the hood is like a different country that has experienced no benefits from gov't expansion and the tech boom, respectively. Unemployment in the black community is often structural and it's been that way for decades. What Amerikkka does is siphon millions of black people into prison because being poor and black is often a crime. The prison industrial complex is the slavery of our lifetime.

I have a dude trying to get me to move to Detroit now. Should I think about it??

The thing is that even the suburbs is low key bad and set to get worse. I'm from the hood but live in the burbs and I where I live, it has all the makings of the hood. White people slowing getting replaced by black people as the majority for the whole town, bad unreliable public transportation that leads to geographic isolation, blacks concentrated in old ass public housing built in the 70's near dying commercial strip malls where the only businesses left are a liquor store, a nail shop or a seedy dive bar where only blacks congregate. The suburbs are going to be the new hoods when gentrification takes over hoods in the Bay Area, DC, NYC, LA etc. And it's already happened. History repeats itself.

But younger black folks in their teens and early 20's are more likely to work now... at McDonald's while their older brothers and sisters bust their ass for $10-15 an hour in a warehouse/ manual labor job only to get fired by shady ass management who hire and fire everybody in town or burn out and quit and make that grand total of $15K for the year.

i'm not going to argue that everything is sweet because it's not, but from the age of 16-24 i was making less than $15k a year. it's a flawed stat when a big chunk of people (especially the future high earners) in this age group don't even work or if they do it's part-time (like i did).
