How long do y'all think lighter fluid burns for? :mjlol:

If you let your coals ash over before you start cooking, the fluid has burned off by then..

Its the same method with lump coal as well..

Exactly why I had to give up the lighter fluid. shyt was always fukkin up for me and I couldn’t figure out why.

So defending the use of a highly toxic substance to cook food is what you wanna do ? When NOT ONE grilling professional uses that shyt ... and when it even says on the fukkin bag of lump coal to NOT USE lighter fluid .

Go head , tho . Live your life . :hubie:

Smoked a turkey for my wife's friendsgiving this weekend. I injected it with Chipotle maple butter and mopped the turkey every 45 mins with the same mixture. I used cherry and apple wood to smoke it.

Any of y’all ever used a big green egg? I’m thinking of getting one and throwing my grill in the bushes.

I tasted some chicken cooked on an egg last week and it was legit the best chicken I ever had in my life.
If you get one, make sure where you are living is where you want to be for a very long time because those ceramic grills are very heavy... in other words, don't buy one if you are renting a house as opposed to owning because you might have to leave it behind.

I forgot to take pics.

I did a prime rib on the grill.

I got the coals screamin hot. 550 to 575 was the grills temp. I put the rib on indirect, not directly over the coals. And let that thing cook for 15 mins. Then I shut both vents and just let that bytch sit in there for 2 hours.

I didn't peek. I just had my digital thermometer in the meat and I pulled it at 127. Wrapped the bytch in foil let it rest for 30mins.

Family went apeshyt. It was honestly a good cook session but I don't like prime rib. It's just not a good cut for me. I'd rather have any other cut of beef.

I was surprised it came out so well. My entire approach toward it was :manny: because I went to a nice restaurant and had their prime rib and was :manny: so I figured that's as good as it gets.

I spent $60 on it but with a digital thermometer it's easy to not overcook.

I wasn't even looking for one when I found it at ace hardware at the end of a display on a clearance rack.

It did have a good bark on it. It wasn't a crazy bark like burnt ends or nothing. But it was good. The rest was just tender as a bytch.
