I wasn't even looking for one when I found it at ace hardware at the end of a display on a clearance rack.

It did have a good bark on it. It wasn't a crazy bark like burnt ends or nothing. But it was good. The rest was just tender as a bytch.

Word .

And I need to find me an inexpensive joint on sale like that or something .

How does that happen? :dwillhuh:
Its a pellet grill. They have specific shut on and shut down procedures for them. For example, when you first turn a pellet grill on you have to leave it on smoke for about 5 minutes with the cover open to burn up any residue pellets in the burning pit. Then when you shut it down it usually has a shutdown mode that burns off any excess pellets and tries to remove excess ash. If you don't follow this procedure this can happen.

My guess is he never does the proper shutdown and shut on and then decides to turn it on without the proper procedure with the LID CLOSED and it built up pressure from the smoke and heat and exploded. For example, he probably didn't do the initial smoke turn on and immediately turned it to cooking temperature and on top of that had the lid closed which led to it.
