I copped the new Traeger Pro 575.

Cost me $800, but it's a grill and smoker in 1. Being able to control the temp thru wifi on the Traeger app is dope.
I just took back my traeger elite 34 was extremely underwhelmed. It didn’t get near the high temps it was supposed to, even sitting for a ridiculous 45-60 minutes heating up. Couldn’t cook a steak or piece of fish for shyt because it would max out at like 325 degrees. Who’s trying to slow cook a steak or piece of salmon for an hour for a quick meal :heh:

325? I read that the pellet grills can’t go as high as other options but if it maxed out at 325 I’m sure it was a design flaw etc just on your unit. Any other traeger owners here that can attest?

Was supposed to max at 450, which is the setting you cook steaks at preferably. It wouldn’t get close, then when you’d lift the lid to put the steaks on it’d get way lower, and legit take an hour to cook the steak to medium. Absolute joke. I called em and they said some shyt about maybe needing a new part. It was brand fukking new :dead: I read up about temp problems on the pellet grills and it seemed an issue on some of em. I just took it back going back to a Kamodo style grill again

Why buy a $800+ smoker to cook a steak or salmon. Better off getting a Weber kettle for a $100. From what I’ve seen the Traegers are for long smokes like ribs, briskets, and pork butts.

I'm getting it in live and direct. Grocery store had seasoned chicken quarters for like $1.50 if you have their card. Two big ass quarters for less than $2.00

Sure but if it can’t do regular cooks like burgers chicken or steak what’s the point of having the combo smoker/grill? They advertise it on the ability to do both. It does one extremely suboptimally to the point it’s not even worth having around

The sauce was good. No hfcs. This regular Joe ass grocery store had more regional shyt and local stuff than they had big brand BBQ sauces. I was shocked. And appalled. I had to pay $7 and some change for it, but was worth it. I might have to take advantage of these chicken sales.
