No way am I a truck driver, my daddy used to drive trucks before I was born. And he told me it was more difficult cause it's a big ass truck with freight that's being driven from point A to point B sometimes from state to state.

They offer cdl training at a community college?.
In the mean time what do you do if you don't have a trailer?

Yup. I checked. The college here in Jax they do. It's like 3 or 4 grand and it's not eligible for tuition assistance.

Im a company driver so i cant really speak on the owner-operater side. I havent gotten into that. You can work for a company using your own truck tho. The company will have the trailers that you will need
I'm paying 6 grand for mines.
They got companies out there that'll reimburse you for School.

I went thru a company. They train u and pay for it. All most companies ask for is a 1year commitment. Its WELL worth it. After 1 year, you can stay where you're at or go to a better paying company or go local. Lots of options breh. Most good paying local jobs require atleast 1year of OTR driving. Im seeing alot with 2 tho. Im in the process of looking for sumthing local myself

great info breh. when you say you went thru a company was this a trucking freight company? or a company who has local drivers

Being a truck driver is especially good if you're a single guy with no children. New company drivers fresh out of school (if you're looking to go with a major trucking company) start out making around $45,000 a year.
