The game was just infuriating. How the fukk does Bellinelli look like Ray Allen when he plays against us? When will Spo understand that TJ simply isn't tall enough to bother taller shooters with quick triggers?
Where the fukk is Ellington because dude has been shooting like trash for sometime now?
We talking about trading these players but HOW?!? With what?
-Dragic ain't worth a first round pick. No one wants an aging point guard on his contract. We discussed this during the tank or not season but 1st round draft picks are stupid valuable because their contracts are so low and CBA punishes teams heavily now. Too many talented gems in the draft and cats like Mitchell, Kuzma, and the like have shown that it's possible to find real talent anywhere.
-TJ's contract isn't worth his production. He's an undersized SG that can get hot but isn't much of a playmaker.
-Waiters and JJ are making too much money to trade. These aren't easily movable contracts anymore because this isn't a vacuum. Age, length, and production matter.
-Whiteside is talented but teams are starting to figure him out and, like I said a while back, a jump happy 7 footer with nagging injuries is a ticking time bomb. Ever since that bone bruise, he's simply not mobile or explosive enough to consistently jump in the air to contest. He's embarrassed by stretch 5s and ends up getting ran off the court. He's good against certain centers (JV, Adams, Embiid, etc) but most of those teams will simply go small and force Whiteside to dominate them on offense which he just doesn't seem able to do consistently.
Kelly O and Rich are legit are most consistent and best players. Rich struggled but he's always elite defensively. Kelly is just a high IQ player that gives us offensively versatility.
And cats calling me a bandwagon fan for saying Philly had 3 young players we'd trade half our roster for individually and that I'm jealous of their future.
EDIT: JUST TO DRIVE THIS POINT HOME, we have the 4TH HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE LEAGUE THIS YEAR AND WE'LL PROBABLY BE TOP 3 NEXT YEAR. 140 million dollars to be, at best, a middle of the pack team with no real championship hopes.
Philly is 22nd highest payroll in the league and they'll be around 70 million next year compared to our 140 million next year. Think about that.
