Even with the bad loss, I still think if we had better coaching, we would be that team. Winslow should be on the bench permanently. Whiteside is trash to me but if you're going to start him, you have to feed him early because he is not professional enough to stay engaged

They need to get rid of basically everyone making any money this summer. The team has no direction or identity and a ceiling of a second round exit for another year or two before aging out.

It felt like he played maybe ten minutes the first half and didn’t touch the ball unless he was grabbing a rebound. It feels like this team never actually has a game plan of any kind on offense.

Most of the first half it looked like they weren’t running anything but high pick and roll while the other 3 players stood and watched. At one point I think Whiteside sat 10 straight minutes of game time the first half. He was he first guy subbed out and I don’t think I saw him back in until 4-5 minutes left in the second and he was gone after another minute or two. They make less effort to get him the ball than Kobe did to feed Shaq in the 2004 playoffs. It legit feels at times like Joel Anthony had the ball in his hands more during the first two seasons of the big 3 era.


Edit: I read the recap. Spo pulled Whiteside after a minute and 39 seconds for his second quarter shift, pulled him 4 minutes and 6 seconds into the third quarter, and never subbed him back in. He sat for 35 of the last 41 minutes of the game.

The best case (realistic) scenario is that we bounce back, ball out, with Whiteside balling out especially, make it to the ECF, and lose a close 7 game series. That way we could get everyone's trade value up and hope a center-needy team gives up a 1st for Whiteside and Brooklyn stupidly gives us a 2nd for TJ.
Those are stretches but possible.

Do y'all think it's a pipe dream to get a 1st round pick back for Dragic? or a 1st for JJ? even late 1sts...
