Be patient.

No pun intended but when have you known Pat Riley to stand pat?

Sooner or later Riley will make a move even if he has to sacrifice the future picks for it again (if he's allowed by NBA rules). My guess is Either Dragic or TJ will eventually be gone tho i hope it's the latter. Same for Waiters and Richardson. It's either we're gonna go for the youth movement and build or veterans and expect to win now. Cant have it both ways. My guess is if some disgruntled star becomes available no one on this roster is untouchable

I have no doubt about that

Bam - Winslow - JRich is a scary defensive trio.

That should be the starting 2-4

Winslow and Richardson are no doubt our best defenders but while im all in on Bam's overall game i'm not quite sold on him as a rim protector yet. Tho his low-post defense seems okay for now. However we dont have as many dominant low-post players in the league anymore for him to put it to god use night in night out.

The scouting/draft report on him coming out of college was that he's NOT a rim protector and struggles to score against players his size or bigger.

He's proven the latter to be false thus far. As for the rim protection part... i havent seen enough of him to make the call but im not impressed. Maybe im so used to Whiteside dominating in that area im taking Bam's contribution for granted.
He defends P&R's farely well, tho. :yeshrug:

For him, rim protection is gonna be about positioning and deterrent. He's never gonna be Whiteside or Gobert though.

He's already shown versatile defensive skill set, high IQ, and motor. He gets low, is good at cutting off drives, is good at weakside blocks, etc.

He's still a kid though and he can't guard polished vet bigs but he's gonna be a defensive monster in a couple of years. I see him being a lot like Ibaka but more mobile and higher motor.

James Johnson definitely should be starting here on out but I just don't see how he and Winslow's skills can be maximized when they are both on the floor. Especially with Dragic on the floor too
