Breh you talking like we gave homie the max :dahell:
He was a free agent and we gave him his market rate. You know you have to spend up to the minimum payroll, right? Why not use cap space you have to use to sign players that are familiar with the system and had shown he can flourish in it?
I said all off season I rather let some other team pay him. Now we have rich and winslow playing out of position. Dion doesn't push any type of needle.

You know we have the 4th highest payroll in the league right? and for what? an 8th/9th seed? We've got almost no flexibility. Us signing Dion didn't push us over the salary floor, we were already there. You know teams don't get penalized for not reaching the salary floor right? the difference is paid to the roster.

Ankle or not, Dion is playing at around his career averages, this is what he is. James Johnson is better than Dion, I still like the singing. Olynyk is whatever.

I'm sure the FO factored in the fact that he was playing for a contract last year when they drew his contract. I'm sure those figures they came up with was that of a middle of the road SG as Dion has been his whole career.

The problem with this roster is that we have too many of those middle of the road players making their market rate and no star. Not Dion in particular. That argument about the streak could be used for James Johnson too. He's been in the league long enough for yet to have data on him. We knew he was playing for a contract and would play better than he had in the past just like most players do. He flourished in the system and we resigned him.

Again I'm no Waiters fan at all. Just saying the FO did what most teams would have done to maintain continuity

Why does Tyler Johnson feel like he HAS to take the shot no matter when he catches it?

Yea, in hindsight they should have let Waiters walk. It's unfortunate Winslow missed most of the year and that Rich's uneven play didn't instill much confidence, that probably would've influenced the team's decision on Waiters. Similar to when they traded Rio to free up some playing time for the young guards I think they're going to have to make a similar move. For all these 1 for 10 nights, 10 point nights, we are better off giving the keys to Rich at 2 and plugging Winslow back into the starting group. I don't dislike Dion but its addition by subtraction, too many bodies and he's the odd man out, Ellington and TJ have a niche.

Waiters stays injured but I like when he's in his playmaking mode instead of his chucking mode.

Winslow's three point shot is obviously improving and you can definitely see how dangerous he can be when he's able to spread the floor.

Bam - Winslow - JRich is a scary defensive trio.

Waiters was so important during the streak and we saw Dragic struggle mightily after he got injured again. And you see his potential because he's young but he's obviously has "talent". He's just too fragile.

Be patient.

No pun intended but when have you known Pat Riley to stand pat?

Sooner or later Riley will make a move even if he has to sacrifice the future picks for it again (if he's allowed by NBA rules). My guess is Either Dragic or TJ will eventually be gone tho i hope it's the latter. Same for Waiters and Richardson. It's either we're gonna go for the youth movement and build or veterans and expect to win now. Cant have it both ways. My guess is if some disgruntled star becomes available no one on this roster is untouchable
