There weren’t many positives the Heat can take away from Tuesday’s 108-97 loss to the Cavaliers.
But there is one: Bam Adebayo. The 20-year-old rookie was dominant with a career-high 19 points on 7-of-7 shooting, six rebounds, two assists and one block in 18 minutes.
Even the Cavaliers were impressed. On the latest episode of “Road Trippin'” — the popular podcast started by Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye — Kevin Love, Dwyane Wade, Frye and host Allie Clifton gushed about Adebayo.
Here are their comments …
Frye: “That [guy] I played last night was humongous. I had never seen him before, I’m very impressed. He’s going to be on the scouting report for the rest of the league.”
Wade: “Oh, Adebayo? Bam Bam.”
Love: “He’s good.”
Frye: “Adebayo, what?!”
Clifton: “Did you know why they nicknamed him Bam Bam?”
Frye: “Did you see him?”
Wade: “We thought because he was dunking on everybody.”
Frye: “Do you y’all know how hard it is to put the ball as a righty, drop step and dunk on the left side of your body over somebody. Did you see how he moved Kyle [Korver]?”
Wade: “That’s how athletic you got to be to make things up in mid-air.”
