Somebody posed a good question on twitter about this sentiment.

Honestly I don't have an answer. The best I can do is probably 07-09 but even that was about building towards 2010 FA which paid off. Then obviously it was nobody's fault that Bosh had his medical situation in 2015 just as we had traded for Dragic and Whiteside was beginning to emerge. They're going to make moves it's just a matter of when.

I don’t even think it’s comparable to that too honestly because during that span Wade was a top 3 player in the league and had one of the GOAT offensive seasons, and we had a top 2 pick with Beas

All of our players are average or slightly below average, the team is just mediocre, if the team has a plan what is it? We’ve struck out on so many FAs the shyt is ugly. Its time to blow this up.

Here's where I stand on striking out on FAs. All you can ask for is a chance to get in the room, KD was always a long shot and they were reportedly right in the mix for Hayward. I'm not gonna knock the FO because players simply chose to go elsewhere, that's nothing we can control.

When I say blow it up my concept of that is strategic moves to accelerate the path back into contention. So if you gonna move Dragic do it for a young player and a pick, or if you move Whiteside you do it as part of a package to get a readily made star talent. A lot of Heat fans be on some "trust the process" shyt when say blow it up and again referencing that tweet, that's just not something this organization has ever done.

Yeah nah I agree, but what I mean is move everyone like Dragon, Hassan etc. and stop handing big contracts to players like Kelly Olynyk so we can use money to develop younger more potential filled prospects or even 23-25 year olds like Josh and Tyler.

Bam could be getting burn but we got Hassan on the court pouting and being unpredictable so we’re wasting his development under a center he probably isn’t learning from.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t want a full all out sloppy tank like the Sixers (even though it worked)

But what we have right now is no good imo

Exactly!

Hayward himself said he was damn near ready to just put on the uniform after the meeting with the Heat. It's his agent that pushed for him to go through with the process and at least visit the Celtics.

You can put some blame on the FO sometimes for not having a roster that a FA would wanna play with. Noone wants to come to a rebuild after their 3rd year in the league. But I dont put this on the FO at all. Ainge and the Celtics just had a better pitch and better team to put around him and he saw the opportunity to jump right into the ECFs so he took it
