Looking into the future, say, 2023, are we really saying NO ONE will also want the option of playing when a connection isn't available?

Consoles and PC hardware will always be there, it may become a "convenience" but, it's interesting that no one is criticizing Google for the "the future is not a box" tag line...

From them hyping having links to buy games in twitter links and a brand new game like Doom Eternal being promoted suggests this won't be a subscription based service which effectively means its DOA. Nobody is paying retail for a streaming copy of a game.
