Then once Vegeta went SSJ he was >>>SSJ Goku for the entire Android saga all the way to the Cell tournament. He was weaker again after Goku came out the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. By Super, Vegeta was > than Goku despite SSJ3. Had more feats in his Beerus fight than Goku. All during Super Vegeta was => Goku until SSB Kaioken. Then Vegeta's SSB Evo made it even again until Ultra Instinct.Vegeta hasn't been in contention for more than number 2 to Goku since the Saiyan Saga.
His job is to make the fight look good while waiting for Goku to clean up his mess. Hes basically an appetizer for the real fight.

Goku fought Cell to a standstill and realized that the only way to beat him was Gohan, who was the most powerful by then.
He had so much faith in Gohan, he gave Cell a senzu bean, knowing Cell's DNA included Saiyan blood...

You're making my point Vegeta starts it and Goku ends up finishing when he inevitable falls short despite being marginally stronger for all of 3 episodes at a time. Vegeta has always been player 2.

The worst beating in all of DBZ was administered by Vegeta onto Imperfect Cell. Yes, Perfect Cell washed Vegeta. But even he didnt beat Vegeta as bad as Vegeta beat him. He literally made Cell beg. And lets not forget that Goku had his chance to fight Imperfect Cell and chose to run. Wanted absolutely no parts of Cell until the tournament. No one is saying Vegeta hasnt gotten his ass beat before. Thats ridiculous, we know he did. But that isnt what the thread is about at all. Its about did Goku beat his ass. Posting clips of when Vegeta got worked doesnt win this argument because itll never be Goku the one who's doing it.
And Vegeta vs Buu was one the most iconic fights in all of DBZ.
Goku couldnt beat Kid Buu on his own so he wouldnt have beat Majin Buu either. Thats what makes Vegeta's Atonement a goat moment for the story and the character.

3 episodes? You know how many episodes there are between Vegeta going SSJ to the day Goku came out the Hyperbolic Time Chamber? 129-168. The moment Vegeta was SSJ he was stronger that entire time all throughout the Android Sage, Cell Saga all the way until the Cell Games saga when Goku came out. Thats like 50 episodes. Goku wasnt stronger than Vegeta in Super until he went SSB Kaioken and that was like 40-45 episodes. Stop with the "3 episodes" please. He had 3 sagas in DBZ alone as being stronger. You dont have to shyt on one character to big up another. Goku will always ultimately be the strongest no matter who is stronger for however long. He's the protagonist. Thats how it always is in every anime/manga.
