I knew teddy's character would get killed off(he shouldve listened to his mom) but figured it would be ernie that killed him. They tried to portray ernie as going soft when he basically tried to kill teddy for nine episodes..

I also wonder where they will go next because it seems bumpy it seems the five families have a greenlight. And I guess next season is when malcolm and the nation go at it

Giancarlo Esposito was great in the 90s movie Fresh. And the guy playing X is great but giancarlo is killing as Clayton Powell. When he put that wig on.... and tried to run from the cops....

It's a high intense drama but he brings comedic relief to every scene.. That's my sleezy, womanizing congressman..

That's exactly why I think Ernie set them up. He of course didnt wanna be the one to pull the trigger because he still wants the white girl.

He just walked up to distract and disarm them. Even the way he said "You're not safe." sounded like he was lying. He wanted her to think he was trynna help.

I sorta disagree, I didn’t think he knew the other guy would kill them, I mean he knew what he was capable of but I don’t think he set it up. He actually showed compassion which made for sloppy writing considering he tried to kill him for a whole season. That story became too predictable after a while.

I think in season 2, Ernie will have a date with big dicc buster

This is/was a good series that i slept on but finally finished looking at recently. The only thing i don't like is them playing with the storylines and what actually happened to some of the real people that are portrayed in the show. If you know the story then of course you are good but i am talking about the people who won't do research or will take anything they see as fact.

That’s how the filmmakers learned of Big dikk Buster (Hank Strong), whom Bumpy kept on retainer to administer rough justice to men who raped black women. In one scene, a security guard who rapes Johnson’s daughter after she’s caught shoplifting is bent over a chair as Mr. Buster approaches, unzipping his pants.

I liked it - didn't love it. I spent nearly all the time wondering "Was this person real? Did that really happen?" 1/2 the time, the answer was no. But Big dikk Buster? Homie was real.

I didn't give 1/128th of a fukk about the Stella/Teddy shyt (which turned out to not even be real in the first place). And I don't believe for a *second* that Bumpy did all talking business with his wife. She knew way too much about what was going on with Bumpy's business. (Like, she might have known there was trouble with the rigged lottery, but no way he would've told her they were $300K in the red AND he was going to see Bonnano AND the white chick had the money for him AND...)

The actress playing Mayme was too average and dull for me to even be vested in her. And I'm tired of Bumpy being this untouchable superman who constantly walks away from the Eye-talians, who apparently just can't touch him because...why? The real Bumpy must have been smarter and far more clever than the Bumpy we saw in this series. THAT Bumpy would've been killed ten times over.

I'm glad they didn't go with a love affair b/t Malcolm and Elyse and showed their relationship as mutually respectful. But again, how much of Elyse was real? Because I double very seriously that she just so happened to be there to cut the throat of the man trying to kill her father. You know? It's like...some of it was so unbelievable that it took me out of the story.

(Oddly enough, Bumpy's widow is insistent in her autobiography that he never sold drugs. Go figure.)

Now, I know there’s people that say gangster’s wives don’t always know all the stuff their men are into, but those people don’t know what they’re talking about. Girlfriends might not know, but wives do – at least back then. When a woman is deemed good enough to be moved from the ranks of girlfriend to wife, then that means the man trusts her all the way. He tells her things he wouldn’t tell anyone else, because she has to know what’s going on so she can handle any situation that has to be handled if her man gets pinched. I knew about all of Bumpy’s number spots, all the gambling houses, the people to whom he loansharked, all the night clubs who paid for protection (okay, some people might call it extortion), and I knew that Bumpy didn’t sell no drugs!
