The 60s was so a crazy decade and we need more shows based around that time frame.

No civil rights beginning of the decade
Segregation
Desegregation
Cuba missile
Mafia
4 little girls killed
Malcolm x and Martin Luther king jr killed
JFK and rfk killed
Vietnam war
Moon landing
Woodstock

in a nutshell...malcolm defied him for what he believed was the greater good...elijah muhammad was self-serving in his stance...so yes I understand elijah muhammad protecting his self-serving interests but it doesn’t make it right in my eyes...I used to attend the mosque when khalid muhammad was speaking and even as a teen certain things caught my attention that didn’t sit right...like why we were made to wait out in the cold while he gets to hop out of a bentley in a fur coat but like you I don’t want to derail the thread...on paper they are about the betterment of our ppl but still even tho I was young I saw things that just didn’t add up...slightly OT but this series definitely has me wanting to reread malcolm’s autobiography tho
It's a perspective thing as well. Malcolm could be looked at as self serving in all of that as well. And even still, you just said it perfectly, Malcolm defied him for what he "thought" was the greater good.

after doin research, to this day i feel sorry for malcom
he was so loyal to the NOI and look what they did to him
him bringing up that elijah had sex with those other women was the last straw

make me think WHAT'S THE POINT OF BEING LOYAL :francis:
He was not being loyal though in the end. :dwillhuh:

Y'all act like the Nation/Malcolm example is the only time this has happened in history. When in reality this is a common theme in all organizations across all platforms.

Overall Malcolm was a victim of jealousy, NOI was filled with a bunch of crabs in the barrel's. Malcom was on his way to becoming bigger than them in regards to image and thought process.

Malcolm has become mystified at this point so I'm gonna go ahead and bow out of this one.

Ella Collins, 82, Relative Who Aided Malcolm X

As a young woman, she moved from Georgia to New York City and took a job as secretary for the Rev. Adam Clayton Powell. She moved later to Boston and worked in her mother's grocery and variety store in the Roxbury section, saving enough money to begin operating several rooming houses.

When Mr. Little died in Lansing, Mich., in a trolley accident some blacks believed was a racially motivated killing, Malcolm X's mother, Louise, suffered a nervous breakdown and was committed to a state mental hospital.
