Most predictable character death ever. I knew what type of time it was when he said that they were leaving for LA.

I guess the hitter’s wife will be on a solo return trip back to Italy. Nothing for her to complain about now.
:manny:
I’m getting anxiety watching this knowing how NOI treated Malcolm and watching the inevitable take place.

I know they're not following history but used based on the real people so they gonna die for sure. This is the first season and Malcolm X already left NOI in this episode. Of course, they going to have him die in the future.

Yeah, they can’t just outright lie and rewrite history. If anything, what they’re using now is for dramatic affect so I don’t expect the story to match up point for point - but like you said they’re not going to distort reality because that would be a disservice to Malcolm. The only comforting part is that he died a legend rather than a coward, he never sold out and he knew the risks involved - even in his short life he was willing to make the sacrifice which is still studied and practiced today; in that sense, his spirit never perished. That’s what I keep in mind. There’s people who live their entire wasted and nonproductive lives not having a moral code - at least he did while receiving recognition for it.

The actor playing him is bodying that role - he’s immersed in the character; these are the type of actors (and actresses) who need to depict important public figures. You can feel the authenticity, not just watching a person put on an act.

Exactly.

Let me ask you a question. Who played Malcolm X so well?

Nigel Thatch or Denzel Washington?

Between this and The Irishman- I had enough of the mob this weekend. I think that I’ve seen every NY/NJ/PA Italian actor from Boardwalk Empire, Goodfellas, Casino, Donnie Brasco etc

And Vincent Donofrio is from Bensonhurst-:mjpls:
all those racist derogatory words coming out his mouth like water, him and pisan Paulie sounding real comfortable with the lingo.

This episode had me tearing up- Malcolm’s inner struggle, his own people that he was loyal to; tried to tear him down for what? Ego and white acceptance. my father lived during that era; he collected all types of memorabilia and photos, magazines. Grandparents are from Harlem. Places and people that were the center of a lot of movements. Sad.
