The side quests seem harder than the actual story quests IMO.

Some of them definitely are. I had to upgrade Atreus' and Kratos' skills even more before this quest.

What's a good level for the magic chisel quest?

Cause they dont give out recommended levels so i only know if i cant beat the enemies when i see their health bar and level.

Yeah, you gotta knock some of his armor off before he really takes damage. If he raises his arm up, throw the ax at it. His AOA will dead you quick.

I killed him on my first try.

What happens when he raises the sxe? He has a skull and I hit him during that moment and his hand catches a cold flame
