They intended god of war mode hence the title of the game and gameplay mode. It's ok to be casual.

Yeah finished that last night after I got done with the mountain. I had to level up before I could finish off the wolves, because the white one had a skull next to their health bar. One bite or hit and I'm dead.

Never played any of the previous GoWs, but this game is amazing. Only complaint I have so far is the wonky combat camera. Wish it was a bit more zoomed out.
