Nah. It's black people and it ain't even close. My folks owned a restaurant in Englewood. Almost everybody in the service industry will tell you the worst customers are black folks and I'm not even mad cause it's true.

Look at all the restaurants on the south side of Chicago. You can't even do call in orders no more. You got to go in and place orders. Half of them force you to pay cash. For the other half that don't, you got to show Id. If you show Id, the card got to be a card that has a chip on it.

Customer service at black restaurants is shyt because they have to deal with shytty customers. Customers then have to deal with shytty customer service so then they become shytty customers.

It's a revolving cycle.

My uncle's fraternity brother owns Truth Italian Kitchen in Bronzeville. The stories I hear about the customers there is ridiculous.

Like the video in the Op, service industry workers try not to escalate problems so they discount the bills down, take off a few drinks, take off a few entrees, and nikkas still be ridiculous.

Y'all brehs need to become comfortable with the fact that this stereotype is indeed true.

It may just be cultural. I don't know.

Plenty of places south you can order ahead, online, etc. Food on the run, can’t believe it’s not meat, Mikeys grill, cleos, etc. And the co owner of truth is an old hood rat thot so of course she attracts that crowd. Only reason that place is still popping is because the breakfast which was created from the co-founder of berries and batter. Y’all gotta stop attributing the worst customs and norms of society exclusively to black people

Lmao y’all sleep...It is difficult as hell to split the bills at the end of a meal when you dealing with 25 people and have 50-70 times you now have to break down per person lmao. That can add HELL OF TIME to your shift and time is money as a server as you trying to get folk in and out to move to the next bag coming in.

When you break it down from the beginning and have a system set up like a smart server would everything falls into place.

Thats their job :dwillhuh:

The point I’m getting at is you ask up front if the bills will be split or if everyone is together instead of making your life 10x harder at the end.

:snoop:

I mean sure but that still aint your job and it aint the default. Waiter should ask before assumes shyt.

I dunno breh, ive eaten out at alot of restaurants with a lit groups of ppl, the presumption is always "all seperate" unless otherwise mentioned.

This happens everyday at bday parties and engagement dinners, etc. Waiter should have done their job.

Breh..we saying the same thing.

If you’re a server..and a damn good one/have experience with big parties..you ALWAYS ask upfront when you taking down drinks which is the start of the interaction.. “Are you all together or separate?”

This eliminates all the BS at the end of the night when people want their bills.

Why is this so difficult to comprehend. :skip:

Its crazy to me how so many ppl miss this point
Man splitting a check up for a group of four was a pain in the ass. But for 25 people.. Gtfoh!!

Man if three people sat down we would want to know if it's all together or separate checks right from the jump. If a party of six or more wanted to order separately, and if the place was busy asf, we would tell them to keep the table but go place their separate orders in the to go area. And most of them didn't mind at all. It's all about how you communicate and say things. The dining experience goes downhill for both parties if everbody is ordering separately in a big party like that

If they couldn't split the bill easily, that's a failure on the restaurant's part. Servers and hosts should have kept track of who got what at each table, at most, or the total tab for each table at least.
Some operating systems in restaurants only go up to like 10 check splits.. Even if it goes up to more you're going to get rattled, confused, pissed etc. On a touch screen - highlighting and drag & dropping each item into a new check window to separate everything accordingly is straight torture. Then collecting the money/cards to close out the checks is going to take at least an hour and you could get confused and screw that up too. You always have to find out if it's together or separate right from the jump.
