This scenario is the job of the waitstaff.
You see a group of 25 ppl, i guarantee that's gonna be 2 or maybe even 3 waiters assigned to that table.

So you have to separate 8 peoples orders? Get over yourself, its your job.

If you cannot keep track of who orders what, tell your manager you need to night off and go home so maybe someone who can actually do their job can replace you.

Yeah, the waiter could've asked, but it's on the people there to let them know what they're doing, because most people are going to assume a big group wants everything together.

I bushed my friend after he tried to pull that shyt. If we're staying at a bar/restaurant, you know it's more about the vibes than anything else. If you going to skimp out or come in to not eat and want to pull that shyt at the end, don't even bother. Ask separate from the start, if that's how you're rolling or literally ask your friend to help you out. I used to hate that shyt more than anything else.

Don't most places have a policy that you're getting gratuity added automatically on groups over 6? Most also have caps on how many ways they split bills for large groups. Truth be told, this place looks low-budget, and I doubt they have an updated POS systems that allows for easy splitting, especially not for 25 people. But also, a party this size, they should've just offered them a set menu (salad, choice of 1/3 entrees, standard dessert) and asked for payment in advance. Alcoholic drinks being excluded from the general bill and paid separately.

I think the main issue was they wanted individual checks and where trying to get items taken off the bill and that's why someone called the police. With all the commotion and confusion, it leaves openings for some less honest people to try and pull a 'dine and dash' type thing

In my view, if this was for a birthday, whoever organized the event, should've been prepared to cover the bill OR they should've asked for $90 from each person at least two days before so they would have all the money to pay ahead of time.

Black people for the most part already feel we being stereotyped and we tend to overtip... as long as the server ain't showing no attitude
Asians rarely tipped in my experience.
