these graphs will tell you everything you need to know. im not saying tuition should be free, but something needs to be done about the cost. people come out of college owing the type of money that would almost buy them a house. but theyre not getting a house, all they're getting is perpetual servitude.

these graphs dont even show the latest data either. i guarantee it's just getting worse and worse, there was a huge influx of people going to school through this recession.

At 18, I qualified for a 6 figure school loan but the minute I went to a bank and tried to get a personal loan for 2 thousand measly dollars, the loan officers hit me with the face.....

Again, no one can explain the financial logic in loaning an 18 year old, with no job, no credit history, no assets, 100 thousand dollars...

If my school didn't refrain from givin me a loan even though the state approved me, i probably would have been in more debt right now.

If I go in to get a personal loan for 5k, and I am working full time and have been for the last 5 years. I will go through a litany of requirements before they even consider giving me 5k...

On the flipside, I can be 18 and broke, tell them I'm going to school, and they'll loan me 100k...

Even if I major in underwater swordfighting, they'll still give me the money..

I was lucky for my field, post-secondary isn't really a mandatory asset. I did go to school, drop out and got my first gig in the industry. I got $5000 from the gov and only had to pay back $1900 then I told them I never got my statements (they were going to put it in collections ) (a little white lie). Now I only have to pay back $350 in a year.

God bless nice bill collectors. I only remember paying like 500 back but not almost all of it
