Really great movie. Although this easily could've worked because of the concept alone, Peele embraces much higher abstract sensibilities and actually creates an experience that almost feels Kubrickian at times. You could always tell at least one of them vibed with that in their tv-show that often featured sketches playing out a horror concept with abstract humor, and with this movie it's pretty clear that Peele was the main man behind those sketches. If this is the result from switching from tv to movies, I'm looking forward to see what he can pull off with a higher budget.

I was thinking the exact same thing. When they did that documentary on The Shining (Room 237 I think) they were basically saying there are details (even the disposition of the hotel, that doesn't make sense) that you don't pick up at first but that your brain registers, it "senses" something is "off".

he looked at the silver lining but man i would've been pissed watching this in theaters
The more sinister ending where Chris doesn't win would have had me pissed off to this very day. I would have been so mad I would have cried at this factual fiction.

I'm probably going to be in the minority but I kind of preferred the alternate ending. I listened to the commentary with Jordan Peele about why he changed it and it makes sense why he went with the ending that's in the movie. But I just feel like an ending like the alternate one would've made an already powerful movie even more powerful. Chris gets some revenge and payback and just when he thinks he's out of it, he gets caught up in some more shyt because things are fukked up outside of that family too.

Also just wanted to mention that Daniel Kaluuya is in my favorite Black Mirror episode

Knew I seen that dude somewhere, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Finally got around to seeing this movie, and I loved it. Speaking of Black Mirror, this movie seems like a legit episode of Black Mirror :russ:
