I was thinking the exact same thing. When they did that documentary on The Shining (Room 237 I think) they were basically saying there are details (even the disposition of the hotel, that doesn't make sense) that you don't pick up at first but that your brain registers, it "senses" something is "off".
The only thing that documentary made me realize is that people will read whatever they want to into a film:mjlol:

That docu was hilarious for exposing how far people will reach to form their theories.

That's what this whole thread is about too, good movies lead people to interpretations :yeshrug:

Did anybody present the idea already that Peele made this movie to express his first, full-fledged metaphorical process of interracial dating his White wife?

That's low-key genius on both ends of the racial stereotype spectrum. He used the movie to speak on his behalf without having to jeopardize his standing and be made a fool out in mass media. What has me :dead:is this movie is allegorical - to how he felt about meeting his White fiancee's family the first time.

White people know he feels, but don't get his personal experience as a context, Black people no longer need to wonder if he's a "New Black c00n" or not. He pretty much used a White woman, to :salute:reaffirm his views as a Black man being scrutinized in modern times in America.

Fantastic writing from a mixed nikka, this obliterated White liberal racism. He put in the frame of White conservative racism, to show there's no difference between how they treat us as Black man. Politics don't save us, they turn us against each other.

Liberals used Psychoanalysis, conservatives used Assimilation, either way is systematic to the White power structure. :scust:

Watched it last night for the first time. Great flick. I'm sure all the symbolism stuff was talked about. It's crazy how picking cotton saved his life.

I could see the intent with the alternate ending, but I wouldn't have liked it.

:ohhh: care to elaborate on what you mean with that? Damn, nikkas in here getting their Wu-Tang slang vernacular on, and I know there's a reason why you said that - it just ain't clicking with me atm.

Just like when our ancestors picked cotton to fool the masters into thinking we weren't "onto them" with their plans?
(Remember, most of them were presumed "illiterate", which is how Nat Turner was able to lead the slave revolt - feigning ignorance that they couldn't understand English. In a modern context, Chris put in cotton from the chair in his ears at the perfect time, when they assumed he was gonna be hypnotized again by the brainwashing).

He legit cared about/loved Rose. If you look closely she's gaslighting him the entire film. He'd think something was off then she'd either makes him doubt himself or somehow make it about herself.

Interesting, Black roses symbolize death, she was his "Black rose"- not that of a White one as shown at the beginning. White on the outside, all dark on the inside, corruption at its finest to the Eurocentric standards of White beauty ideals.

A manipulative White bytch into interracial " bait dating" of course would be named "Rose" - the foremost symbol of romanticism and traditional European love "Damsel in distress" narratives.

The servants have moments of clarity. I think they're subliminally trying to give him hints throughout the movie.

Chris is a millennial, his generation are ignorant and vain of Black history, they're all OG's dropping gems of wisdom to him.
So, the only thing my age group can do is to learn the hard way, like they all did.
They all tell him to "Get Out! :damn:" in their own clues, but he doesn't get it until the last minute, if you caught that.

My mom and I finally saw it today, we are mind blown at how much shyt we missed. Anyways, take or leave the following suggesting theories:

1A. The landscaper dude was running in circles, not only because Rose's grandfather lost that race to Black make athletes in Germany. Her father wanted to visualize in delusion what would a White male benefit off the genetic advantages of Black male physiology (What Hitler ironically was doing to the Jews on the Eugenics and experimentation projects, only for him to criticize Adolf's "Bullshyt Aryan theories".)

Her father was basically an American Josef Mendel, or "The Angel of Death".
It was genius slight of hand as Peele exposed how White liberals choose when to be offended by ethnic cleansing. They're always using another race's suffering to justifying in perpetuating their abuse. If they "repress" those as false memories to the children, the next generation to forget.
Cacs will rewrite their own history, when "White Guilt" is too much to handle. They do that everytime they use the "Holocaust was worse than slavery, Jews had it worse than Blacks" bullshyt rhetorical excuse, as if Transatlantic Slavery didn't directly impact American idealism. Simply put, White liberals are "Slavery Deniers", while the conservatives are "Holocaust Deniers" breh.

1B. Anyways, the landscaper was also running in circles because he was wired to do that. Runaway slaves could only navigate to freedom from the plantation by following the North Star. He slyly said "This is my night exercise", he never once looks around his environment, or the sky for a way out.
The camera flash isn't just their "Wake up call", that's their "North Star". nikkas are always trying to be in sports and run blindly in "track and field". Try another profession that isn't stereotypical for a White man capitalizing off of Black male athleticism.

1C. When he suddenly changed course of direction towards Chris, he wasn't trying to scare him. That illustrated that we are always THIS CLOSE to being freed from White Supremacy. Working for them has us back in a cycle as 24/7 wage slaves.
Note: Chris is a Photographer, and likely is his own boss. That means he is a symbol for preserving the images of Black History and owned businesses. All these Black people go missing, but nobody "investigates" and collects evidence of our ordeals and what we went through, talking isn't enough these days.

Just when I think this whole movie has been dissected and discussed...now imma go buy he movie tomorrow

Read my comments below and above, there's a lot of shyt I'm sure the most die hard analysts of Black culture missed.
I'm in that :whoo: "unplugging the Matrix cable mode" rn processing all the context clues.

My mom thought the maid unplugging his phone charger wasn't Rose's doing.
It was a hint that nikkas don't talk, better yet "LISTEN" to their moms, or Black women in general anymore - in the traditional sense from the older generations.
She was attempting to communicate with him, that he's too focused on technology to not get the "bigger picture" (dramatic irony, considering he is a Photographer).
Peele low-key reinforced Chris feeding into the "Angry Black Woman" stereotype - only for him to realize she been giving him clues throughout the entire movie, and was only trying to help him.

He called her a "crazy bytch" and made a remark on how: "Some women have a problem with me dating her (Rose)" and as soon as she saw them conversing at the table,:mjpls: guess who was heading on over there to "hover" about IR dating?

That's why I was asking how would she gain a close connection with Georgina? All the black men could obviously be boiled down to a potential boyfriend so obviously they would have no problem taking a pic with her. But they didn't explain the the sole female in the box of pictures.

Peele was making fun of the idea that Black women often team up with White women to lead Black men into being manipulated by White families. Of course, the "Lesbian Bedwench" thing was a joke to distract from what the photo was really saying.

That was also an Easter Egg for Coli posters, fukking dead at how at first, it was so strange and didn't fit in with the profiling.
