I like buying MRES

You got any other advice. U never responded back
I got some Mayday rations. 5 year shelf life. Link to the ones I bought and out in my pack:

SWITCHING GEARS

We've talked a lot about food & water in here but has anyone done medical supply preps? That is where I am lacking and I know I need a lot of stuff. One of my kids had a bad injury and had to go to the ER a few months ago and I sweat thinking about how I would have dealt with this if health facilities were overwhelmed or not available.

I am starting on stocking OTC drugs. Looking at doses per adult of acetominophen, ibruprofen, aspirin, antacids, anthihistamines and then dealing with getting non-prescription antibiotics etc. Also gauze and silver ion pads for burns, etc.
Post what you bought if you did. I don't know nothing about medical shyt. Especially antibiotics.

This worries me the most. My son is a type-1 diabetic so my ex and I have been getting as much extra insulin as we can just in case. I’m going to get a small indoor generator with enough power to power the small fridge I have to keep the insulin cool. I read an article one time about a young French woman during WW1 who kept a pig in her yard and extracted insulin from its pancreas whenever needed. I wouldn’t even know how to go about doing that. Scary to think about.

Only survivalism I need to know is how to shoot a nikka that got what I want :demonic:
Got to be prepared for that too. That element will definitely be there. Some people will have a killed or be killed mentality.

I'm still learning---there is a lot of expensive kits you can spend an arm and leg on and 70% of the stuff I wouldn't even know how to use.

I did find this though with the Cali government emergeny preparedness medical supply list.

It is the recommended supplies to treat 100 people for 3 days. So the same amount could probably treat one person for 300 days (or a year).

Posting it below to make it easy

A few organizations to join for Black preppers.

A few ideas on organizations to network with that may come useful in a disaster situation

NAAGA - National African-America Gun Association - Many local chapters for gun training and networking

OMIK - the Black ham radio organization. No local chapters but there is a members directory.

Black Farmers Index - not really to join for a large directory of Black farmers nationwide

Black Farmers United NYS - network of Black farmers in New York State. Good to make friends before you need them

If you are a ham radio operator, know the frequency of the local ARES/RACES emergency net so you can listen in during emergencies

N95 mask (3pk)

Haven't listened to it yet but just in case you were wondering about the post office response to a disaster they actually have a podcast episode talking about it:

Serious question: How much have ya'll spent so far?

The best question to ask now is how much could you put aside weekly on a systematic plan to stock up?

Food, I'd say $500, water containers, $300

But I accumulated this over a 10 year period. Food if you put aside $25 a week for a plan and pick up 4 5 gallon food-grade (white color) pails at Lowes for about $20, you can build up a 3 week supply of water instantly and buy enough food for 3 months in about a month.

Focus of cheap, non-organic stuff and take advantage of sales. Top things to start that are cheap and easy:

Oatmeal (old-fashioned rolled oats), rice (go to ethnic stores like Asian, African, or Indian and big bags are CHEAP), beans (dry are cheap but canned are good too and are a backup if you can't cook), canned veggies (corn, string beans, peas, carrots, etc.), dry cereal, canned tuna fish, and condensed milk.

Make sure you only buy stuff you and your family will eat and get a backup cooking device like a propane stove, solar stove, or use YouTube videos to make an electric-less toaster oven using tea lights.

Take advantage of sales, clip coupons, etc.

The Mormons have the following recommendations per adult per year. You could easily get to 3 months (1/4 of this) on a plan. For example, for $25 and the right store you can get 30 lbs of canned fruits/veggies or almost 50 lbs of rice (though this is going up) or 15 16 oz cans of condensed milk. That hits some good numbers right there.

Preppers are worrried about black people taking over. All I need on that day is a keg and some spare ribs.

My worry has made me invested in some different weapons and upgrades. Also stockpiling sardines and ammo!
